Windows 8.1: WiFi dropping and/or "Limited"

Since installing 8.1 Pro, I'm having issues with WiFi dropping internet connectivity and always showing "Limited" when clicking on the system tray icon.  When I troubleshoot the problem using the system tool it is always the gateway that is faulty.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the device drivers several times, installed the newest drivers directly from Intel, restarted the computer, etc.  I can restore connectivity by turning WiFi off then back on, but the connection will drop at what seems to be random intervals.  My applicable system specs are as follows;

Lenovo Y510P  Laptop

Windows 8.1 Pro

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230

Apple Time Capsule router w/newest firmware

Needless to say this is quite an irritating bug that didn't exist prior to the update to 8.1  I hope this can be resolved quickly. Thanks!

    Windows 8.1 upgrade I do not understand how and why these are distributed and reminders everyday prompting you to upgrade with these kind of obvious bugs, the comment about being Irritating, is not how I would put it...  This has obviously not been fixed since people have started complaining about it and frankly I want to know how to back out of this disastrous upgrade.   

    Microsoft how can you blame bad routers, mine is less than 8 weeks old, this is a very poor attempt to deflect the problems you have now caused, I'm so glad I did not upgrade all the laptops in our family. When is it going to be fixed?

    your suggestion about ipconfig, how would I know if it is right or not, I've tried it and I still can not connect to the internet, I have full signal, how is this possible??? the other problem I have with this so called upgrade is that my laptop is now running extremely slow.. and this laptop is only 3 months old.

    I would really like to know how to fix this and fix in now...

    Go into HP Utility Center and Reinstall back to Factory Settings, Remember to Backup your computer as All will be lost, original drivers will be installed with Windows 8 just as you had pre Win 8.1, all should work fine, Would suggest you do Not upgrade to Win 8.1 meantime until issues are resolved by either HP or Microsoft.

    I was told the same thing, but from MS.  I was on the phone with MS for at least 2 hours and their solution was for me to go back to Win 8 if I wanted wi-fi and that I would have to wait for HP to create drivers that would support Win 8.1.  I gave MS a lot of bad feedback considering if the drivers work in 8 but not 8.1 that is not a problem with HP it's a problem with Win 8.1 on top of the fact that why would I recommend this OS if I've spent more time fixing their problems than enjoying it?  Anyway, I have an HP Pavilion G6 1d18dx.  I have tried rolling back the drivers and messing around with the IPCONFIG using Command Promt.  I'm not sure what to do at this point.

    I've been in touch with Acer for the second time now to try and solve this issue, and for the second time they have given me a link to the Atheros driver for Windows 8.1

    I told them in the email that my aspire has the Intel Centrino wireless-N105 adapter.

    I gave them the laptop serial Number (registered with Acer) and Wireless Adapter that it uses but they still keep sending the wrong link.

    Or is it that the Atheros driver will actually work with the Intel adapter? 

    I really don't want to install this driver and make things even worse!
