I've tried so many different things to fix this and nothing worked. I've adjusted power settings, installed different versions of the drivers, all to no avail. I finally found a link to a Dell support page (even though my computer isn't a Dell) that recommended disabling some of the TCP settings via the command line. This, so far, has resolved the problem for me. Here's hoping it can help someone else as well.
"Another good fix to address the issue is to disable the TCP settings. Do the following:
- Open command prompt with administrative rights
- Type the following commands and hit enter after each command:
- netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
- netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
- netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled
- To verify that these settings are disabled, type
netsh int tcp show global and hit enter
Once done, you are advised to reboot your system. This should resolve the problem"
I posted that ages ago earlier in this discussion and it was a great fix and actually sorted it for me. No issues for months.
However suddenly two days ago whilst Acronis Image/DLINK were backing up my system at 2am I noticed in the morning I had a timeout due to the old yellow mark on my connection!! Unplugged and replugged the adapter and all was fine again, however once again overnight the same issue occurred.
Tried the trusty fix above and ran a back up during the day today and annoyingly it happened again. So right now I seem to be getting the disconnection whilst running Acronis or that's how it seems to be happening anyway.
Anyone have any ideas?
