Has this been fixed? I have two laptops, one never disconnects (Windows 7) and the other does frequently (Windows 8).
Windows 8.1: WiFi dropping and/or "Limited"
Since installing 8.1 Pro, I'm having issues with WiFi dropping internet connectivity and always showing "Limited" when clicking on the system tray icon. When I troubleshoot the problem using the system tool it is always the gateway that is faulty. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the device drivers several times, installed the newest drivers directly from Intel, restarted the computer, etc. I can restore connectivity by turning WiFi off then back on, but the connection will drop at what seems to be random intervals. My applicable system specs are as follows;
Lenovo Y510P Laptop
Windows 8.1 Pro
Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230
Apple Time Capsule router w/newest firmware
Needless to say this is quite an irritating bug that didn't exist prior to the update to 8.1 I hope this can be resolved quickly. Thanks!

2014-09-01T04:54:38+00:00 Sorry, your "my car doesn't work" is an example of ignorance and "so called IT expertise" in service to customer-user of the computer...
Many cars, old and quite new, of different brand around the world sometimes don't work after the concrete supplyer of the petrol have changed the parameters of the fuel, even if according to the standards and latest status of the art know-how

2014-09-01T04:21:23+00:00 The same issue in my Dell XPS is reported by Intel, who provides the Centrino wireless product I have, to require a firmware upgrade. Intel has built new firmware for many of their wireless chips and reports my version is planned for upgrade as well. I suggest you check with Intel to see if your Centrino version has an update or is planned to have one. You can find the version in Device manager.

2014-08-31T03:44:35+00:00 Did you try the articles I provided earlier? If you did and they didn't fix the limited connection go to the top of the Microsoft community web site and click participate and then ask a question. Include a copy of ipconfig as well as which ping commands failed. You can copy data from a command prompt by right clicking it and choosing select all and pressing enter to copy. Then you can paste it in the new post. You can also add > desktop/ipconfig.txt to create a txt file on your desktop that will contain the details. The command would be ipconfig > desktop/ipconfig.txt
