Windows Update error 'Code 80246002'

Windows 7 Ultimate

I manually ran Windows Update and starting today it fails and provides an error  "Code 80246002"

I have seen (in here) recommendations to check for prior failed updates to resolve this...  I have no prior failed updates.

I've run both the Windows Update 'fixit' and  'WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab'

The fixit says it fixed several items, but failed to fix what it calls a windows update error, with this error code:  0x80070490

I can't find a solution so far... anybody have any suggestions?

Same thing error.  I have this error, cannot run Windows Update and have no "failed updates" in my history.  I am running Windows 7 under Parallels on Mac.

I had the problem and tried the ipconfig solution but did not fix the error. I ran brought up MSE and manually ran the UPDATE. This fixed my problem.

Install Hotspot Shield and install the windows updates............
