Ripping music from cd to xbox one?
I purchased my day one edition today, upon trying to rip songs from a cd that I had inserted, I found now possible way to do this. It was so simple on the 360, it means i can't play forza game with music in the background from my CDs that I have stored in the hard drive, as the forza disc will be installed aswell for it to play.
Can anyone shed some information on this? Incase I have missed something.
Thanks

2017-04-15T21:19:57+00:00 Yes, why in the **** can we not rip a CD which we already own so we can play our own music while playing games????? Both previous Xboxs were capable of that. What changed? Is Microsoft REALLY that greedy??? If their reasoning was so we have to buy music from them which we already own on disc, well then I'm still not buying their music. Sorry Microsoft but you can go f¥€{ yourself on that one. Thank you so much for removing an amazing feature. Isn't it funny how greed always ruins the best products?! Thanks again for the insult Microsoft.

2017-04-11T11:35:20+00:00 i dont get why microsoft could support this feature on the 360 and the original, today i tried to download the free bonus tracks from the game of thrones season 6 album on microsft edge, after putting in the code it said i couldnt download it, after i tried to download it on my laptop ( H.P) which is supported by microsoft ,after putting the code in and trying to download it, it said that the code had already been used because i tried to use it on my xbox, just a complete waste of time and money

2016-08-22T11:02:48+00:00 First off, who ever is in charge of the XBOX division needs to be fired. How could they overlook music! Well they didn't they were just delaying the process in hoping that since you couldn't use your own music that you would end up buying music through their GROOVE APP, NOT!!!
Well just shy of the 3 year launch (November 22, 2013) of XBOX ONE you can finally play music on the background while playing a game, there are two ways to do so.
- Download Simple Music Player from the app store.
- Put all your music on a thumb drive in a folder called "Xbox Music Library" if you don't it wont read the content of the drive.
- Once you do this it should work however one major flaw, THEY FORGOT TO ADD A VOLUME CONTROL FEATURE!!!! So basically it's useless because the music can be playing louder than the actual game volume. Pretty F**KING Stupid if you ask me.
The other way is using the GROOVE APP. This way is more complicated but you will have volume control and it's a pain in the **** to setup. Its like Microsoft doesn't want users to have the freedom to play their own music and they're betting on that most can't figure it out! (So you will end up buying music from the store) ****!
- Download the Groove app to your XBOXONE
- Create a Microsoft LIVE account if you don't have one((https://signup.live.com/)
- Now you need to use microsoft's "OneDrive" in conjunction with the "GrooveApp" I found the "OneDrive application doesn't work on Windows 7 nor did it work on the Xbox One as an app. However you can login to OneDrive by using your Live Account info and use OneDrive in a browser preferably in "CHROME" works best, how Ironic?
- So after you get through that S**T Show you have to upload you music to the OneDrive Cloud Server into the Music folder that you will see in OneDrive. They give you 5 GIGS of free space. Depending on how much music you have and bandwidth it could take up to an hour!!!!!.
5.Now that you have all your music uploaded to the cloud through ONEDrive it should automatically Sync with the "GrooveApp" when launched on XboxOne.
When you launch Groove Music it will ask if you want to sign up for Free Trial, below it will be an option to play your own music. However if you don't setup the OneDrive first and you launch Groove it will always prompt you to SIGNUP!!!!!
Like I said Microsoft sat around in some board room one day and said you know our music sales are really down how can we compete with Itunes. I know we can take away the option to use your own music and then we can force them to sign up on Groove music and then after three years of customers complaining we can then finally give them the option to use their own music but we will make it really, really, complicated so the average user could never figure it out, and we will make sure OneDrive will never work on XboxOne!
- To control the volume go into the "Snap Side Bar" and you should see all the options for the music player, Including VOLUME!!! Launch your game! At anytime you can snap out of your game adjust volume as needed to create the perfect ambience for your games. Personally I was playing the "Book Of Eli" and the "Oblivion" Soundtracks in the background while playing "MAD MAX", enjoy if you can!!!!!! Hey Microsoft get your S**T together!!!!!!!
