Windows 8.1 touch screen not working?

Is there a touch screen bug in the final version of Windows 8.1 or is there a particular setup I need to do to get touch to work reliably?

I just installed it on my Fujitsu T902 and sometimes the touch screen responds and sometimes it doesn't. The same also applies for the digitizer.

What is the make and model of the laptop?

You may try to download and install latest touch screen driver from the computer manufacturer website and check if it helps.

    I also have an issue with the touchscreen not working on my HP pavilion ts sleekbook 15.

    Having had the problem for some months now I've given up on trying to input your recommended solutions as my screen seems to come back to life of it's own choosing, although it has now given up completely and hasn't worked for some time now.

    Your suggested actions are in my experience a temporary fix and unfortunately not a long term solution to address this problem.

    With the increasing amount of posts on this forum and others highlighting this issue can you confirm if either Microsoft or the hardware manufacturers are working on a patch or solution to fix this problem?

    I have hp pavilion ts 15 notebook pc , also have the problem, touchscreen will work on startup for a few minutes, then decides to go out, have been trying to resolve problem for months.     everywhere I go on the web, has no answer, blames HP, HP blames Microsoft it is just a big mess for all of us. I have pretty much disables windows update except for important updates, I have pretty much figured out the problem lies somewhere there, before or after preparing/getting windows8.1. that is where the problem happens. I just haven't been able to pinpoint which update it is (after dumping my computer 3 times in one 36 hr period)  but this link above is the best help for me, so far, I hope it helps others...I JUST RECEIVED MY COMPUTER IN DEC2013 RUNNING WIN 8 HP PAV TS 15 NOTEBOOK PC  and upgraded to win 8.1 so if you have different circumstances, PROCEED AT OWN RISK but good luck!

    Same issue on an HP Elitebook running Windows 8.1 64 bit. Browsed to hp.com and downloaded the updated drivers, works great now. Thanks for the solution!
