Windows 8.1 touch screen not working?

Is there a touch screen bug in the final version of Windows 8.1 or is there a particular setup I need to do to get touch to work reliably?

I just installed it on my Fujitsu T902 and sometimes the touch screen responds and sometimes it doesn't. The same also applies for the digitizer.

What is the make and model of the laptop?

You may try to download and install latest touch screen driver from the computer manufacturer website and check if it helps.

    Hi, I have the same problem with Asus N550JV, after 2 months using W8.1 the touchscreen stopped to work and in the PC Info - "no pen or touch input is avaible for this display"... I tried everything people said in this forum section, nothing solved the problem, please help

    PS it worked perfectly 2 months.. and now its gone

    I had the same problem after updating to Windows 8.1 in my Samsung  and the suggestion you explain above worked!

    Brand new laptop.  In the middle of making an online order with the capacitive touchscreen and suddenly touchscreen stops working and the laptop restarts and now it doesn't work at all.  HP Pavilion.

    1. What is the exact model of the HP laptop?
    2. When you say "now it doesn't work at all", does the touchscreen is not working or laptop stopped working?
    3. Are you using Windows 8 or 8.1?

    If the touchscreen is not working, you may try the following steps and check.

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

    a. Press Windows key + X on the desktop Screen and selectDevice manager.

    b. Expand the device and right-click on driver and select ‘uninstall’.

    Step 2:

    You may also refer to the HP Support and try installing the latest version of touchscreen drivers and check.

    Method 2:

    You may also run the hardware troubleshooter and check if it helps.

    a. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tapSearch.

    (If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then clickSearch.)

    b. Enter Troubleshooting in the search box, tap or clickTroubleshooting, and then tap or click Hardware and Sound.

    c. Tap or click Hardware and Devices, and follow the instructions on the screen. You might be asked for an admin password or to confirm your choice.
