Windows 8.1 touch screen not working?

Is there a touch screen bug in the final version of Windows 8.1 or is there a particular setup I need to do to get touch to work reliably?

I just installed it on my Fujitsu T902 and sometimes the touch screen responds and sometimes it doesn't. The same also applies for the digitizer.

I am having the same problem with my new HP all in one purchased last Christmas. The touch screen has had issues with in 4 months of when we got it. Now with the 8.1 upgrade I cannot get it to work at all.

I agree, Heck you cant even get in touch with Microsoft. At least I have not been able to, it is always some tech service in India where you can not understand them or they can not understand you 90% of the time. Then I have even been told that I have viruses or malware on my machine that is not there. They want almost $200 just for a one time service and push to sell you a $300 or more subscription for just one year. Where in the H#** does it stop. I allowed one of these so called "TECHS" to remote in to my laptop once and ended up with it totally useless as I could no longer get it to access the internet. I had to take it to a local tech, luckily a friend to get it straightened out. Now I am vary skeptical of allowing any of them to remotely access any of my computers, My wife has a fit if I even suggest having to do that.

Microsoft makes Billions each year with their products and I do not dispute them that right, but their support of the products they sell has gotten worse and worse. They are a FAR CRY from helping the US economy and job market as well with their farming all tech support out to the country of India. I find it VARY **FRUSTRATING!!!**that I have to struggle to understand the person I have called for tech help not to mention you have to go threw at least three different people, explaining your problem two or three times and as I said then having them tell you that there will be a "NOMINAL FEE" for the service. Oh Yea It almost always is a 2 to 3 hour phone call.

Why is it that when the software ie the 8.1 upgrade is less than 24 hours old there is zero support or "warranty" from Microsoft. You don't even get the disks any more.

"This model is plug-and-play for windows 7 operating system. So you don't need a driver to get this monitor working on your PC. Did you connect the USB cable? This cable needs to be connected as this is for the touch-interface."

This is not my experience. I installed this monitor with Windows 8 and it was working out of the box. When I upgraded to Windows 8.1 touch stopped working. Then I went to the Iiyama web site and downloaded the W7 touch drivers for this monitor and installed them on Windows 8.1 and now it works fine.

We have been using 8 Fujitsu T-902's in our business for 4 months with Windows 8 Pro.  No problems with Touchscreen until last week (correlated to MS upgrade, I think).

Now they randomly shut off touch capabilities for Pen and Finger touch.

Reboot fixes it every time, but I also found that closing the screen and re-opening (suspend/hibernate?) after 1 second re-establishes touch again.  That is a much quicker work-around for our users than reboot.

So I am guessing that some kind of power save setting is the culprit.  Second I'll try updating Fujitsu drivers.
