Windows 8.1 touch screen not working?

Is there a touch screen bug in the final version of Windows 8.1 or is there a particular setup I need to do to get touch to work reliably?

I just installed it on my Fujitsu T902 and sometimes the touch screen responds and sometimes it doesn't. The same also applies for the digitizer.

You may try to download and install latest touch screen driver from the computer manufacturer website and check if it helps.

    I have the Lenovo G500s, what worked for me was opening service manager, uninstalling HID-compliant touch screen (under Human Interface Devices), restarting and allowing Windows to reinstall. On my first restart it froze after logging in, held power to force a shutdown and its been working fine since. Hope this helps someone.

    Not that I'm aware of. My guess is that when the screen is off, the touch panel may remain active (in S2 or S3 power modes) so it might wake the computer if you touch it. It will use some power, of course, but I don't think it's going to be noticeable.

    Anyway a few months ago I finally could reenable the power settings in my laptop without intermittent problems on the touch screen. Either MS or Sony fixed it for my set up, I' don't know at which point it was safe to enable.
