Windows 8.1 touch screen not working?

Is there a touch screen bug in the final version of Windows 8.1 or is there a particular setup I need to do to get touch to work reliably?

I just installed it on my Fujitsu T902 and sometimes the touch screen responds and sometimes it doesn't. The same also applies for the digitizer.

What is the make and model of the laptop?

You may try to download and install latest touch screen driver from the computer manufacturer website and check if it helps.

    My touchscreen and camera stopped working for several days and then started working again.  I have no idea what happened.  I'm wondering if there is something on the keyboard I may have touched?

    I experienced the same issue with Asus X200CA. No driver updates available from Asus or help found with this issue. I was able to swap out a cloned hard drive that was created as a backup prior to 8.1 upgrade. Now back to 8.0. I will wait for 8.2.

    Hello!

    I have same issue on ASUS Vivo s551lb notebook.

    After updating from windows 8 to 8.1 touch screen stop working.

    In preferences menu I have something like:

    • there is not touch screen or pen devices....

    Please help

    I have sorted the problem with my iiyama T2452MTS with help from Harry at iiyama. He mailed me:

    "This model is plug-and-play for windows 7 operating system.
So you don't need a driver to get this monitor working on your PC.

Did you connect the USB cable?
This cable needs to be connected as this is for the touch-interface."

No problem now. iiyama Quick Start Guide could and should be written better. 

However, maybe this problem of unresponsive touch that others face with their screens 

is  solved by the plug-and-play connect through a USB.
