Windows 8.1 touch screen not working?

Is there a touch screen bug in the final version of Windows 8.1 or is there a particular setup I need to do to get touch to work reliably?

I just installed it on my Fujitsu T902 and sometimes the touch screen responds and sometimes it doesn't. The same also applies for the digitizer.

What is the make and model of the laptop?

You may try to download and install latest touch screen driver from the computer manufacturer website and check if it helps.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.  I NEVER thought that it could be a RAM issue but now that you mention it, it seems the touchscreen stops functioning and some type of warning message appears informing me of a memory issue/problem.......  I haven't had the problem lately because I've been denying JAVA updates because I suspected that JAVA updates were using too much memory and causing the touchscreen to stop fuctioning.

    Hi...i had the same issue....I found that by setting auto updates to off and never,  fixed it.

    Seems there might not be enough ram to support the finger touch when it is doing other things. I had to use stylus until I restarted the computer, then it was ok.

    Now I have only had one time it stopped working, I was working in the desktop, had too many screens open,...I just waited a few minutes and all good.

    as mentioned, i am using a fuji t902 but the "fix" is the same

    go to your hardware-manager and find your touch/pen digitizer, for me its "wacom device" and disable the powersaving setting in the config "pc can deactivate to save power"
