Cant use windows 8.1 Windows Easy Transfer on Windows 8.1

Windows Easy Transfer is removed from Windows 8.1.

Items that now can be easily transfered by using SkyDrive in combination with other services and tools, such as Xbox Music to back up your music collection, and File History to keep files always backup and up-to-date.

You could bring back Easy Transfer.

We have multiple user accounts on our main family PC.  Should I force everyone to back up all their files individually?  Or should they let me go through their pics, docs, etc.?  Easy transfer made this....easy.

And don't even get me started on music...and I like Xbox Music.  But it doesn't support our entire collection, and often mis-matches the tracks it does have.  The suggestion that it replaces local transfer is, quite frankly, offensive.

Same for OneDrive.  I like it, too.  But it is no replacement for local migration.

This is very, very, very annoying.  It is impacting my ability to upgrade a PC, and will impact my decision on what OS will be running on its replacement.

Us PC Mover by lap link.  If you are moving from XP, it is free.  If you are moving from XP and want to move your applications too - ~24 USD more.

Files and Settings Transfer wizard and Windows Easy Transfer always did a pretty sad job anyway - in my opinion.

The most dangerous piece of software available at the moment is Skydrive (Onedrive).

My experience is that it transfers ALL your data to the cloud (whether you want it to or not), deletes it from your PC and then there is no sign of your data on Skydrive. The first thing I do with my clients PC's is turn Skydrive off. Once Skydrive support realises your data is gone they no longer reply to your emails.

I am adding my voice to this list of disappointed owners/supporters of this OS, you are making the people who help support you look stupid when we tell users about the Easy Transfer tool and then you get rid of it, with SkyDrive as the alternative? Wow, guys you have to help us, help you. Try convincing an 80 year old to save stuff to the cloud! Be happy I got them on to Windows 8.
