Greetings from an upset person. Does anyone know if the recently released nVidia R331 driver for 64 bit Windows 8 causes the same install problems for the Win 8.1 upgrade from Win 8 64 bit?
I think I will quietly go and hide from my Macintosh friends. God, what a mess!
I can tell you that it certainly may because I have that same driver and version. The reason I say may is because I have no clue and no one else does at MS it seems as to why this is happening. Like others, I have been through EVERYTHING and it still gives
me an error code after re-booting for the 2nd time. It did restore my previous Windows 8 install so nothing was lost, thank god for that, but this is certainly rubbish.
My PC is a Workstation running 2 Intel Xeon 2687w CPUs, 32GB RAM, nvidia 680, Asus z9pe-d8 motherboard, custom water cooling and a HUGE Mountain Mods Ascension custom case.
All PCs are different and there are many users out there with custom built systems. That's what PCs are and MS knows this unless they are just wanting everyone to use Windows on tablets and consumer systems. Until they post a REAL fix and I hear about it from
other legit sites, I will be ignoring the 8.1 upgrade. Nothing I really need there anyway, but I know eventually I will be forced to so hoping by then this trash is worked out.
