And you sure won't get much help from Microsoft - how many pages does this make??
If it's a new machine I would take it all the way back to zero - like you are just plugging it
in. Go to your programs and see if any pre-packaged security systems are in the programs
and thoroughly delete them. Then try the update again.
Microsoft "helper" sent me a clean disc for the 8.1 update - well, that was a laugh cause my
new machine did the same thing. I did have AVAST installed already thinking I would protect
myself first and had to completely delete it before the update "took".
**** running Microsoft can't figure out their own update, nor how to help anyone. No excuse
for this - none. Disgusting.
totally agree with you, it's absurd they are not resolving this problem. Ah, and I built this pc by myself, so it's clean by definition, I only ran windows update, so there is only the stuff Update downloaded automatically. I'll try to search for something
hidden, but I doubt I'll find something
