Well, I tried disabling every device in device manager (minus processors and system and keyboard/mouse), and once again (shocker), no love.
I, too, disabled every device (uninstalled actually) and even disabled various (e-SATA, USB, PCI, onboard-audio, etc) in my BIOS. Made no difference same error.
I wish this got bigger media coverage. I really doubt MS is even doing anything about this -- at least they should come out with some type of statement (or, admit error and remove it from the store as they did with RT). Or, better yet -- make it available for a download/ISO so we can do a clean install rather than going through the "Store" BS.
