nVidia graphic card does not show up in device manager, unable to update drivers

Original Title: NVidia graphic card disappeared

Before three weeks ago, I connected my two laptops via network sharing (but it didn't work) . After that my laptop (ASUS X52J with nVidia GeForce 310M) did not respond, it restarted. But with some errors. After that my laptop didn't detect nVidia card (detected only Intel graphic card). I uninstalled my drivers and tried to installed. But it occurred error..

"This graphic driver could not find compatible graphic hardware"

And Device manager also didn't detect the nVidia adapter..what should i do now..Please Help

    Hey, I cant see my nvidia geforce gt 750m in the device manager!

    I've already tried uninstalling my gpu hardware and tried installing the drivers for it and it still wouldnt detect my gpu..

    Please help!

    The method 1 link doesnt work for my computer, I'm running on a windows 8.1 alienware laptop.

    Get into your BIOS and reset to defaults . Let the laptop restart and voila there it is again. Run  nvidia software and you'll be able to control your video display again :)

    This solution worked with my ASUS X52jc with a nividia gforce 310

    Yes!..

    I contacted ASUS  support. They told me to restore default BIOS. Then it's over. Device Manager shows the VGA card and install the card's driver.

    ( ASUS BIOS setup has no settings for graphic card. )

    Would you explain how you restore default BIOS. ? because I'm struggling with the same issue !!!
