    Hello Dulanjana,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community Forum.

As per the description, I understand that your computer is unable to detect nVidia GeForce 310M graphic card, device manager does not show it there as well and  while trying to install the driver you get “This graphic driver could not find compatible graphic hardware” error message.

I would appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.

    1. Out of these two graphic cards ( nVidia and Intel), which one is the default graphic card?
    2. Have you recently added this additional graphics card?

This problem can appear if the video card is not installed properly in the PCI slot and as a result the card is not detected in device manager. Check the physical connections again, reinsert the card properly in the PCI slot and then install the drivers from the manufacturer’s website.

If the video card is installed properly in Video card but still the problem persists, let’s try these methods below and check if that solves the problem.

    Method 1:

First, I would suggest you to run the following Microsoft Fixit to get the problem automatically detected and fixed. This fixit checks if the device is currently disabled or turned off or the driver is not installed.

Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows.

    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us

    Method 2:

Sometimes, some devices in device manager are hidden due to corrupt or missing drivers.

Follow the steps below to show hidden devices in the device manager and troubleshoot accordingly.

    1. Press the Windows key + X
    2. Select Command Prompt (Admin)
    3. Type set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 and hit enter
    4. Type Start DEVMGMT.MSC and hit enter.
    5. Once in Device Manager hit the View menu and select show hidden devices.

From here, remove each instance of the Nvidia card you see as well as each unknown device. Exit Device Manager and reinstall the latest drivers you can find for your graphics card.

After you install the drivers, reboot and see if you get any different results.

    Method 3:

If methods suggested above does not help, I would recommend you to contact ASUS to get chipset, BIOS, graphics card, drivers installed properly.

Also check with graphic card support site or refer the manual regarding the changes to make on the BIOS.

***BIOS Disclaimer:***Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

Hope this helps. Please let us know the results. Feel free to write us back for any further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.

For a laptop, unless the laptop maker states otherwise, you obtain any drivers from that laptop makers support site

The graphics is an onboard motherboard chip and as such may be part of the motherboard chipset drivers

Firstly I thank you, for your consideration..

I tried you both 1st and 2nd methods. But it wasn't solved. I don't know what is my default GPU. But as I remember nVidia was the default. I didn't change my lap. This is default hardwares. And unfortunately I have no way to contact ASUS.

Anyway I appreciate you all for helping me. If there is any solutions, please tell me..

    thank you!
