nVidia graphic card does not show up in device manager, unable to update drivers

Original Title: NVidia graphic card disappeared

Before three weeks ago, I connected my two laptops via network sharing (but it didn't work) . After that my laptop (ASUS X52J with nVidia GeForce 310M) did not respond, it restarted. But with some errors. After that my laptop didn't detect nVidia card (detected only Intel graphic card). I uninstalled my drivers and tried to installed. But it occurred error..

"This graphic driver could not find compatible graphic hardware"

And Device manager also didn't detect the nVidia adapter..what should i do now..Please Help

    DangerDillard, I have the exact same problem. I followed the method 2; revealed hidden items in device manager, saw my Nvidia GTX 960M, uninstalled it, and restarted the computer.

    Now I have no traces of the Nvidia video card, even when I reveal hidden items.

    Yesterday Windows 10 automatically updated my Nvidia driver to 361.75, and in the middle of the install crashed to a blue screen. Subsequently my multi monitor setup wouldn't work, so I started looking to manually remove and update the driver for the Nvidia card.

    Ok, so using method 2. By "remove" the only option i saw was uninstall, now i am stuck with just my Intel driver and no longer have my Nvidia GeForce 750M driver. I do not know where to reinstall it or what to do. What do I do?

    Hello I have an Asus Laptop that has a 740M iNvidia card as secondary to its "microsoft basic display adapter" (that's what it says in the manager)

    I'm running windows 10 right now but the laptop came with windows 8.

    The iNvida card is no longer visible in the manager and when I try to update the card or reinstall the drivers it says that it can't find the applicable hardware.

    I have not removed or physically added anything onto the laptop. After an update my iNVIDIA card had a code 43 and I uninstalled the drivers and tried to get it back to working order. My standard card is functioning fine any there are no other problems. I simply want to get my other display card up and running again.

    Can you Please help me out. 

    I tried to follow your steps and I was able to find the other hidden graphics cards and I deleted them, but now I cant update the drivers. Nvidia driver tells me I do not have any of the cards I am trying to update... I have windows 8.1 and a nvidia quadro fx 1400, the card came with the computer and it will not read it. please and thank you for any help.
