I face the same problem.....I have a Sony Vaio E-Series....It doesn't show up the AMD Radeon Card anywhere...I have to use the Intel HD Graphics 3000 which is too annoying...Hope someone solves my problem...

Original Title: NVidia graphic card disappeared
Before three weeks ago, I connected my two laptops via network sharing (but it didn't work) . After that my laptop (ASUS X52J with nVidia GeForce 310M) did not respond, it restarted. But with some errors. After that my laptop didn't detect nVidia card (detected only Intel graphic card). I uninstalled my drivers and tried to installed. But it occurred error..
"This graphic driver could not find compatible graphic hardware"
And Device manager also didn't detect the nVidia adapter..what should i do now..Please Help

Finally the Nvidia GeForce GT 420M GPU showed up by following Step2 otherwise since a long time there was no tracing of the GPU. Now at least it is confirmed that this thing is inside dead or alive and somehow disabled itself.
This is a Dell laptop XPS L501X model and my GPU was running well since last 5 years. One fine day I realized that my GPU is not working when I tried to lunch a Game. No idea how it got disabled and I'm the only person using this laptop.
Could you please guide me step by step how to enable it!! or what other methods to apply.

Solution:
I found out you can press fn +f5 to get it to force switch to the other card wait until it gives you a prompt that request you to restart and presto update your card and your good :3

My laptop is maybe 2 months old, so I didn't think i'd have to update the BIOS already, but I was wrong.

2016-01-28T19:07:36+00:00 Ultimately, the problem for me turned out to be with the Nvidia card itself, rather than Windows. I had to get it replaced - the 'glue' linking it to the motherboard had gone solid and cracked, damaging the card.
