nVidia graphic card does not show up in device manager, unable to update drivers

Original Title: NVidia graphic card disappeared

Before three weeks ago, I connected my two laptops via network sharing (but it didn't work) . After that my laptop (ASUS X52J with nVidia GeForce 310M) did not respond, it restarted. But with some errors. After that my laptop didn't detect nVidia card (detected only Intel graphic card). I uninstalled my drivers and tried to installed. But it occurred error..

"This graphic driver could not find compatible graphic hardware"

And Device manager also didn't detect the nVidia adapter..what should i do now..Please Help

    1. Go to the device manager (Win + X menu)
    2. Go to "System Devices"
    3. Check for devices with name "PCI"(since gpu normally are connected through PCI) and "port" in their names
    4. If any of these devices has an "error triangle" marked on it , then update its driver.
    5. Go to "Display Adapters" -> Right Click-> Scan for Hardware changes
    6. It should show up your Nvidia Gpu
    7. Also uninstall all previous Nvidia products to avoid further conflicts :p

    Hey guys i am new here.... just a hint, remember the F2 F10 F4??? I mean the BIOS Setup key? Yea use it, go to Configuration or whatever menu that mentions display and switch it to BOTH, or DISCRETE. Cause my problem that i wasted 8 freakin hours tryin to solve it turned out it was me turning the display to UMI ONLY i.e... only the main and primary graphic card will function and the other one be hidden

    Make sure you know what BIOS version you have and re-flash it. I upgraded to W10 and it did the same thing. Once I did the BIOS flash it took it a bit for it to recognize it. But all good now.
