Friend's computer running Windows 8.1 is unable to connect to awired or wireless network giving the following error: Problems found: One or more network protocols are missing on this computer. Windows Network Diagnostics is unable to repair the problem.
This problem appeared after Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete was installed and run. It detected several problems (virus, trojan, malware) and it removed the infections. My friend did reboot the computer and since then it became unable to connect.
Has anyone had this kind of problem happen to them, and what if anything, other than restoring from scratch, can be done to regain connectivity.

Update: After toying with the TCP-IP protocols, system is now showing an active wireless connection with full strength, yet when a browser its open it brings up an empty page with "This page can't be displayed"
Pinging to yahoo server returns positive with all ping successfully completed.
Using Internet Explorer "Fix connection problems" returns that no problem was found.
Network Connections shows an active Wi-fi state, and with status details showing IPv4 with Internet Connection, not so for IPV6. Media state as Enabled. Speed 144.0 Mbps, and under Activity: Sent bytes: 1,827, Received bytes 2,513. Diagnose option returns no found issues.
Could this be a possible Virus or System Compromised by malware or trojan? Webroot Active and no infections has been detected since original setup and clearing of active infections.

I have read the entire thread and the supposed fixes outlined in this thread do not work for me.
In fact, for me at least, Windows 10 doesn't even appear to install the same way and in the same manner on the SAME machine twice. This morning, I formatted and reinstalled yet again and after joining the Domain - Windows Store was broken. Format reinstall and the store works, update, 1511 hits and networking is busted AGAIN with message this thread is all about. Format AGAIN - Store works. I mean really? Seriously!! Is Microsoft even testing ANYTHING anymore?
Fiddling with DNS won't help. Also, you have a lot of servers out there. If you assure me you have unplugged your modems, AP's and routers from all electrical outlets, I cannot help you further. I'm just saying this helped me and most of the cases here. Maybe try with a more recent/newer router. Those things are often a bottleneck.
As for the Windows Store; I don't use that. It's ment for tablets and phones. If you have a desktop, use the regular variants (the normal .exe installers you download) as these are built specificaly for desktops. The first thing I do on fresh Windows installs or upgrades, is delete or hide the Store for desktop users and remove a bunch of pre-installed apps.
When you say format, you really formatted the HDD? Or do you just mean a system restore? Anyway. If Windows 10 u1511 doesn't seem to work for you, then just don't install it...

Over Christmas, I had the fight with them because my speeds were 5 down and 1 up - yes that's in megabits. Pathetic for someone paying nearly $300 / month for 100 down / 20 up!!
Now, I'm willing to BET, you didn't read my posts and here's why:
I can PING my machines.
I can do NO other networking of ANY sort on my LOCAL network.
I can't RDC into my servers or other workstations.
I can't print on my network printers.
... BUT ...
My Windows 7 machines WORK!
My Windows Server 2003 R2 machines WORK!
My Windows Server 2008 R2 machines WORK!
My Windows Server 2012 R2 machines WORK!
... and ... wait for it ...
My Windows 8 machines DO NOT WORK!
My Windows 8.1 machines DO NOT WORK!
My Windows 10 machines DO NOT WORK!
And they don't work because I get the now DREADED
"Missing protocols on this computer." problem ....

2016-01-21T17:18:15+00:00 Your problem might not be a Microsoft problem, but problem with your internet company. I had the same problem, where I re-installed, went to a back-up, etc.
Finally done a Tracert command in CMD with Admin Rights and found it was the internet company problem and not my computer.
