Consumer Cellular APN MMS settings not working after WP 8.1 Update

My folks' two Lumia 520s on Consumer Cellular (an AT&T MNVO) took the 8.1 upgrade without issue a couple weeks back, however they now can't receive MMS messages (a photo attached to a text message for example) anymore, the settings we used successfully previously were:

Navigate to: Settings / cellular + SIM (add Internet APN and MMS APN if not present)

Edit Internet APN:

APN= att.mvno

Edit MMS APN:

APN= att.mvno

WAP gateway= proxy.mvno.ccmobileweb.com

WAP port= 80

MMSC= http://mmsc.cingular.com

MMSC port= 80

Maximum MMS size= 10485

Has anyone successfully gotten this to work post WP 8.1 upgrade? Currently it indicates that there is media attached to the message but will not download it when clicked. Thanks -

I upgraded my folks' 520s to 635s this Christmas still on Consumer Cellular and had to enable their APN settings, was able to just use the same SIM card.

The 635s come with 8.1. These settings worked, note that to get MMS images and videos to come through I had to choose IP type as IPv4 *only*:

Edit Internet APN:

APN= att.mvno

Edit MMS APN:

APN= att.mvno

WAP gateway= proxy.mvno.ccmobileweb.com

WAP port= 80

MMSC= http://mmsc.cingular.com

MMSC port= 80

Maximum MMS size= 10485

IP Type= IPV4

Thank you thank you for posting this!!! My husband and I just bought a pair of 635's and instantly fell in love with the format and capabilities of the phone. We went through the 2 hour long phone call to consumer cellular with absolutely no luck (the operator ended the call with "well you must just have a phone that can't send pictures on our network"). I am so glad that I read through the message boards and found this.

The above settings work people!!! The line that was throwing a wrench in it for me was the IP Type. After 8.1 the default setting is IPV4V6. After changing this to IPV4 I was able to successfully send and receive picture messages. Thank you johnhardyiv, thank you! I will be calling consumer cellular to inform them of the fix so they can update their "troubleshooting" software and hopefully pass this information on to others who are having this issue.

This is what currently works for me. Just no LTE but highly suspect it is a provisioning setting on their side even though they say LTE is enabled.

APN: ccdata

User name: (blank)

Password: (blank)

Authentication type: PAP

WAP gateway (URL): proxy.mobile.att.net

WAP: 80

MMSC (URL): http://mmsc.mobile.att.net

MMSC port: 80

Maximum MMS size: (blank)

IP type: IPv4

Hello John,

My Lumia 635 is a ATT prepaid GO Phone from walmart.com ($58.00) I got a new SIM from Consumer Cellular as the old SIM was too big from a outdated consumer Huawei phone. Everything works fine except MMS. I have not seen LTE on the top of my screen. It only has 4G. I have tried the setting below and it worked 1 time when the phones were side by side

( same phone with the same settings) I have tried sending to other phones as well with no luck :

Edit Internet APN:

My only call to consumer cellular ended with the service rep telling me that not all phones get MMS. I believe I will eventually get this figured out , I will just have to keep checking this thread/message microsoft community for input.

Note: at the time of the only MMS picture text I have successfully sent I was on Data not WIFI , I live in a very poor " 1 bar" area, phones were right next to each other. Sorry I am not much help. Melissa

I need to ask you the same. Do you get the LTE to show up top? I only get 4G on the replacement Nokia sent me but CC had it showing LTE on the initial 635 so I know it is possible. I also had the local ATT store insert a sim from one of their active display phones and LTE lit up so that rules out a defective phone or software glitch.

I checked the APN settings with the inserted store sim and nothing was setup. The store rep said this is common with WP. Maybe it is more important of what is setup on the provider side.

Update: I just got off the phone with a Consumer Cellular rep for another attempt to get LTE. She agreed advised to enter the following.

Internet APN

APN = att.mvno

Proxy Server = 66.209.11.32

Port = 80

MMS APN

APN = att.mvno

WAP =66.209.11.32

Port = 80

MMSC = http://mmsc.cingular.com

Port = 80

This does not work at all now. She then asked what was selected as the connection profile. I told her it said AT&T to which she responded the phone is locked and cannot receive LTE speeds.....only 4G.

This is odd since the original 635 that I had to send in for repair was working fine and had the same connection profile of AT&T. I'm about ready to give up and settle for 4G.
