Consumer Cellular APN MMS settings not working after WP 8.1 Update

I upgraded my folks' 520s to 635s this Christmas still on Consumer Cellular and had to enable their APN settings, was able to just use the same SIM card.

The 635s come with 8.1.  These settings worked, note that to get MMS images and videos to come through I had to choose IP type as IPv4 *only*:

Edit Internet APN:

APN= att.mvno

Edit MMS APN:

APN= att.mvno

WAP gateway= proxy.mvno.ccmobileweb.com

WAP port= 80

MMSC= http://mmsc.cingular.com

MMSC port= 80

Maximum MMS size= 10485

IP Type= IPV4

Thank you thank you for posting this!!!  My husband and I just bought a pair of 635's and instantly fell in love with the format and capabilities of the phone.  We went through the 2 hour long phone call to consumer cellular with absolutely no luck (the operator ended the call with "well you must just have a phone that can't send pictures on our network").  I am so glad that I read through the message boards and found this.

The above settings work people!!!  The line that was throwing a wrench in it for me was the IP Type.  After 8.1 the default setting is IPV4V6.  After changing this to IPV4 I was able to successfully send and receive picture messages.  Thank you johnhardyiv, thank you!  I will be calling consumer cellular to inform them of the fix so they can update their "troubleshooting" software and hopefully pass this information on to others who are having this issue.

I tried many different settings and none worked. This one did. I have a Windows 8.1 Nokia Lumia 635

WAP gateway= proxy.mvno.ccmobile**(WEB)**.com

and it didnt work. I also left out changing the IP TYPE to IPV4 and it still didnt work. Before giving up I went back and relooked at my settings again and it was typos on my behalf that made it not work but just to make sure I power cycled (turned phone off & on) after correcting typos and it works now. Thanks again dude.

Well, after another dozen or so calls I finally got someone who agreed that the swapping of Consumer Cellular Sim cards  between my wife's phone and mine meant that re-provisioning was required or the Sim needed to be replaced.  It turned out it was the Sim card at fault.  Picked up a new one at Target for which they credited me $10. 

I called as instructed earlier that day to have it activated and my number assigned to it.  He had me dial their test # which worked.  I reminded him twice that I needed it to have LTE enabled.  He replied it was.

He sent me an email with the APN settings even though I didn't them.   I entered my previous ccdata APN settings for LTE phones.  Nothing but a DNS error of no connection.  I then entered in the 3G settings he sent.  Now had internet but no 4G or LTE.  Another call in revealed I was not LTE enabled.  Got that fixed and everything is great again.  LTE is working and texting a pic to myself enabled sending media to others.

One thing I learned was when changing the APN just delete them and create new ones after powering off and on again.  Then possibly off and on again.

Now if I can figure out how to get Cortana to respond via blue tooth when pressing the call button and saying "Call Cortana" in my Kia Forte.  All it does is dial 555-555-9876.  However it does read and allow me to reply to incoming text and phone calls.  Very nice!

Isn't that strange?  I told a few of the CC reps about this fixing that issue but doubt it will be added to their solution knowledge base leaving many of us frustrated.  I used to take customer tech support calls in the past and still work for a call center doing workforce scheduling and reporting.  Most of the CC agents I reached were very willing and wanting to help but I could sense they did not have a good system in place.  They seemed to simply be reading from the same web pages I could see.  I also asked if they could pull up the ticket from the agent who fixed my LTE function on my first Lumia.  It didn't seem like they could or perhaps as helpful as he was he didn't document what he did to the provisioning.

If you ever get the LTE to work let me know.
