My Bluetooth adaptor in Windows 8.1 will not pair with my Bluetooth headset or phone. It returns a "No devices found" message. The 8.1 compatible driver has been downloaded and installed and returns the message " Your Bluetooth software is up to date"

Hi Ken,

I would suggest to make sure if you have turned on Bluetooth on other devices.

Method 1:

I would also suggest you to run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter to troubleshoot the device:

a. Press Windows key to launch the Start screen.

b. Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes and click on Troubleshooting.

c. In the new window, click View all on the left pane.

d. In the list of options, click on Hardware and devices.

e. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2:

I would also suggest you to start the Bluetooth service and set it to Automatic:

a.     Go to the Start screen.

b.    Type “Services.msc” without quotes and press Enter.

c.     Right click on Bluetooth support service and click on Properties.

d.    Set the Startup type as Automatic and then click Start under Service status.

e.    Click on OK.

Let us know the results. If you need any further help, we’re glad to assist.

I am having the same problem with a HP ENVY dv6.   Made all the suggested changes, drivers are updated, but still can't get bluetooth audio to work.

    Hey,

You should try going to the Lenovo site and checking if they have a new, updated, version of the Driver for your model.  Lenovo is usually pretty good about that stuff.

    Good luck!

    Hey man,

No guarantees, but someone with an ASUS machine used the same driver and said that it worked.  Check the first page of the tread and look for:  GuylaineGuimond replied on  January 23, 2014

As long as your hardware is form Qualcomm Atheros Communications, that driver should work fine.

    Good luck!
