My Bluetooth adaptor in Windows 8.1 will not pair with my Bluetooth headset or phone. It returns a "No devices found" message. The 8.1 compatible driver has been downloaded and installed and returns the message " Your Bluetooth software is up to date"

Hi Ken,

I would suggest to make sure if you have turned on Bluetooth on other devices.

Method 1:

I would also suggest you to run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter to troubleshoot the device:

a. Press Windows key to launch the Start screen.

b. Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes and click on Troubleshooting.

c. In the new window, click View all on the left pane.

d. In the list of options, click on Hardware and devices.

e. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2:

I would also suggest you to start the Bluetooth service and set it to Automatic:

a.     Go to the Start screen.

b.    Type “Services.msc” without quotes and press Enter.

c.     Right click on Bluetooth support service and click on Properties.

d.    Set the Startup type as Automatic and then click Start under Service status.

e.    Click on OK.

Let us know the results. If you need any further help, we’re glad to assist.

Thank you for this post and the link, I tried everything else to fix this Bluetooth connection problem and nothing else worked. Too bad Acer doesn't have this "fix" on their site. I could have saved a lot of time if I had found your post earlier. thank again

Actually I re-download Bluetooth driver from Acer webpage and then in the folder CD.... I've run Set up file which asks further to repair, modify etc etc. I clicked repair and found my Bluetooth headset connected after 1 or 2 trials on my tablet.

I think the driver i.e. Bluetoth audio device and Bluetooth LWLFT is included in actual Bluetooth driver.

I was under impression that those are 2 separate drivers need to load separately which was wrong.

So Now if you can see your Bluetooth audio device does not show any yellow warning symbol then drivers are ok and your Bluetooth devices like speaker, headset etc can get connected..
