My Bluetooth adaptor in Windows 8.1 will not pair with my Bluetooth headset or phone. It returns a "No devices found" message. The 8.1 compatible driver has been downloaded and installed and returns the message " Your Bluetooth software is up to date"

Hi Ken,

I would suggest to make sure if you have turned on Bluetooth on other devices.

Method 1:

I would also suggest you to run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter to troubleshoot the device:

a. Press Windows key to launch the Start screen.

b. Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes and click on Troubleshooting.

c. In the new window, click View all on the left pane.

d. In the list of options, click on Hardware and devices.

e. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2:

I would also suggest you to start the Bluetooth service and set it to Automatic:

a.     Go to the Start screen.

b.    Type “Services.msc” without quotes and press Enter.

c.     Right click on Bluetooth support service and click on Properties.

d.    Set the Startup type as Automatic and then click Start under Service status.

e.    Click on OK.

Let us know the results. If you need any further help, we’re glad to assist.

Yes I just upgraded from 8  to  8.1, and now my Bluetooth devices don't connect anymore..... I certainly hope that this will be fixed soon....some upgrade....one of my most key pieces of equipment doesn't work anymore....I will try the Acer fix listed here, but my computer is a dell, so who knows if it will work.

Thank you DimitryNemirovsky. I use the same method with another brand of PC and another driver for Bluetooth and was able to fix the problem with my headphones.

Have a similar problem if the Bluetooth device is off then the Bluetooth drivers are not loaded. if I turn on the device win 8.1 doesn't see it. and there not Bluetooth device in device manager. I tried troubleshooter but it doesn't see Bluetooth. I restarted the Bluetooth services but no luck. but if I leave the Bluetooth device on and restart then win 8.1 see and pairs the device and the Bluetooth drivers appear in the device manager and troubleshooter says everything is working correctly. and the device does work. it's really strange. the Bluetooth worked great before the upgrade. I've updated drivers but still not luck. hope someone figures this out.

    Rob
