How do I disable the new titlebar in Modern Apps?

I installed the new W8.1 update 1 today. I find the new Metro App titlebar totally stupid, useless, and very annoying. It apparently only shows on computers with a mouse attached.

Is there a way to disable this titlebar? I hear it may officially be called a "window menu".

I have been using Stardock's ModernMix to make Modern/Metro useful. ModernMix is what the new update should have been. Having this new titlebar popping up across the top of my screen when using windowed modern apps is really annoying!

BTW, what is it nowadays, Modern, Metro, or Retro? lol

Edit 04-10-2014: Stardock got this solved real slick with their new ModernMix 1.14 beta. They even managed to add a window option to the titlebar, which still shows in full screen mode. Nice! When you reduce a modern app down to a window, the title bar is disabled.

Pretty slick! I can't understand why Stardock is so good at this stuff but it takes Microsoft multiple versions over multiple years to get to the same place, maybe!

Dear Mr Keene,

I have read a number of your responses and I find them surprisingly confrontational, rude and obstinate.

I came onto this forum to voice my discontent with the title bar, as many others have, but I'm concerned that my thoughts won't be taken seriously.

The title bar may be useful for some users, but for those of us who clearly find it a nuisance, or worse counter-productive, it really needs to have an 'off switch' somewhere.

I would politely request that if you find this thread frustrating, with so many users not using Windows 8.1 'as it was intended' you pass the case onto your supervisor, or a colleague, who may be able to provide more useful feedback and support.

Connell, I'd like to add to your comment. I'm a 8.1 laptop AND desktop user, and I utterly dislike the presence of the "silver-taped" title bar. The hiding taskbar in Modern. the charms/edges/corners don't bother me when on the desktop computer, and work wonders when on the notebook (I'm an old OSX user and recent Ubuntu user). Completely supress the 8.1 definig characteristics seems a bit strange, but restoring the elements to where they belong (I'm talking about the Modern style menu by clicking with the right button at the start screen) and removing that frankenstein's monster -esque title bar (or leaving it only to the window mode promised to come with the 8.2 update) are surefire measures to fix those breaking mismade fixes.

That's what the desktop-oriented users say about us!

Thing is, both sides are justified in wanting things to work the way we've gotten used to. Desktop UI-oriented users want to suppress the Metro side, and Metro users would prefer to not have faux-desktop elements imposed on the new UI. Or at the very least, we'd like to be able to turn them off.

If it's possible to hide the taskbar in Metro, largely suppress Charms in the desktop, select whether to boot to desktop or not, surely it should be possible to give the option to hide this titlebar as well. Whether it's practical is another story, but that's for MS to decide.

Your all wet! WE who like Modern UI and a mouse we should be able to have. After All That is the was the way it was released. These Johnny come lately are the ones who should adjust. After all I bought a Windows 8.0 for the new unique way it was designed.
