How do I disable the new titlebar in Modern Apps?

No you can't turn off the title bar, but it only shows up for 2 seconds and then won't show again until you specifically touch the edge to pull it down.  So it shouldn't be in your way.

In fact I do consider it extremely annoying. Not because of its presence but by the fact that it comes down when I touch the border. The problem is that when I move up the mouse pointer to click something close to the top and go a little too fast, often the title bar hides the thing I actually wanted to click, such that I have to move the pointer back down, wait some time and have to go back up carefully again to not touch the border again. _This_ is what I consider annoying about it. I personally don't care whether I close an app by pulling it down or by clicking the X, and as such the title bar made the mouse experience for me much worse than it was before.

I like the other updates for mouse users but this one is only annoying. I would be ok if it would be present all the time and thus just reduce the app size a bit or if it was not present at all but I really don't like when parts of my app are hidden by not moving the mouse carefully enough.

Like many posters here I too have been living with that darn pop-down title bar for far too long, for many reasons already posted. Yesterday I was RDP'd (using Metro/Modern/Store app) into work, and from there opened an RDP window (desktop app) to a client system. Second RDP opened full screen with that blue title/control bar in auto-hide mode. Could not hover the mouse high enough to get that control bar back, the Metro title bar kept getting in the way. I finally had to close Metro RDP and reconnect using desktop RDP long enough to get control back.

That was the last straw. I decided to search the web for an answer and found this thread. While I'm depressed that there does not seem to be a way to hide that thing, I'm somewhat comforted (but sad, really) that I'm far from alone in this frustration.

Thank you, whoever suggested right-clicking on the title bar. Far from perfect, but I no longer have to wait for it to go away.

Just stop fighting your customers and add a simple feature to disable the title bar. It's only a few lines of codes man wtf..

looks like this has been done to death, but my 2 cents anyway.

when browsing, sometimes there is search bars or similar at the top, selecting it with the mouse can accidentally touch the top of the screen bringing the "titlebar" down covering said textbox, etc.  very annoying.

that just one example.

me, I think a simple option, titlebaron="false" / titlebaron="true" would be great!

Count me in as well. I've been using the Metro RDP app since Win8.0 and never had a problem until the dreaded update that brought this title-bar along...

Since that update, I close the RDP app by accident about 3 to 4 times a week because the godawful titlebar jumps in front of my RDP session. Not a big deal if you're clicking in the top middle of your screen, but closing a maximized window in RDP makes you quit the whole RDP app in no time!

I particularly like the ability to quickly switch between desktop and Metro RDP app through the upper left corner. I Always use my RDP on a second screen and it's nice to switch back and forth between desktop programs and RDP.

When using the desktop RDP in full screen with multiple sessions, you need to move your mouse all the way up for the RDP bar to appear, minimize the window, then move your mouse all the way down to click the RDP icon on the task bar to select what session you'd like to show now. With the metro RDP app, this is sooooo much easier because everything is on the top of the screen.

After having closed the Metro RDP app by accident for the gazillionth time, I came across this thread. Since the title bar initially wasn't there and since it's obvious that this is a real productivity-PITA, please consider giving the users a choice to disable this thing...
