[W8.1 Update 1] "Windows Store failed to sync machine licenses. Result code 0x80070490"

After a clean install of windows 8.1.1 using the ISO from Technet I started getting the following error message in my event log the first time I start my machine in the morning:

Event 512 Store-Licensing  "Windows Store failed to sync machine licenses. Result code 0x80070490"

I use a Microsoft account and I have synced by Modern apps many times manually. Running the scheduled task manually will also produce the same error. I disabled the Scheduled Task that runs the sync and I'll see if it shows up tomorrow. Btw, the Store seems to be working fine.

I  read somewhere that the MS Store will be changed for 8.1.1 so I wonder if the 'new' store will stop these messages.

The Scheduled Task that kicks this off appears to be Microsoft/Windows/WS and is called WSRefreshBannedAppsListTask.

    We are all much better off NOT having ANYTHING "sync" to ANYTHING Microsoft!

    My time sync was OK on the MS server & the error is still being thrown, after a couple week pause.

    MS Fix-it fixed 3 items last week but to no avail.

    Still no error message since changes on Nov 21.

    Checked Adalwar's post above today and found the same Update now error message he mentioned, even though it said it had updated at the same time, then rechecked with no further Update errors

    I think I found the source of the problem:

    In Control Panel> Date and Time> Internet Time > Change Settings ;

    Windows is configured to Sync with "Time.Windows.com" and seems that is not working. When I press the button "Update now" there comes a Time-Out error.

    So that might be the problem of the Sync.

    I tested the other available Servers and I choose one that is working without problem

    The Event ID 512 error is gone for now.

    Regards

    Adalwar
