Hello.

I got an issue with my Lumia 930 that i bought today.

When i've got an incomming/outgoing call the person on the other end can't hear me, but i can hear them clearly. It works when i put the call on speaker, but i want to be able to call someone and not sharing the conversation with everyone around me.

So far i've done:

Soft reset

Hard reset

Nokia Software recovery tool

Does anyone have this issue?

Is there a fix for this or should i return it?

Then if it's a hardware issue then based the feedback I have seen from others, this hardware issue was a result of the Windows 8.1 update. Software updates caused hardware failure for some. That's sounds strange.

As per my experience, it is a hardware issue.

I got a new after having serious of issues at the first few weeks.

For the time being the new phone is working well!

    OS version is 8.10.14234.375

As I got to know from Nokia the muting microphone when the phone is on speaker mode is a hardware issue.

The replacement phone is working perfectly.

But It was a hassle for me to visit Nokia centre several times.

The desperation is the poor contribution from Nokia to the forum.

Mute microphone and mute nokia/Microsoft. Well said. I share your frustration. What's more frustrating is not knowing if this issue is software or hardware. Some on this blog got new replacements and thay are working fine. Hardware? who knows. Others after the denim update it resolves some of the issues. Others denim ruined their perfectly good working phones. Software? What is the problem? REALLY REALLY FRUSTRATING.

After two years and a half with a Galaxy Note, I'm back to Nokia. My latest one was a N8.

I didn't remember how Nokia was so Nokia. Now I remember: bugs promised to be solved that never get solved - or regressions are introduced in a software upgrade and so on. However, Nokia had never produced premium devices that looked cheap out of the box. Lumia 930 looks cheap with the loose buttons and the uneven tinted display. Also, the charger is made from a cheap plastic material instead of better ones used by Apple and even Samsung.

Now, what really annoys me is the mute microphone on speakerphone calls. What can be complex when implementing a speakerphone mode? I would understand if some moiré effect appeared in pictures due to a bad image processing algorithm, but... it's just a plain speakerphone mode that even an inexpensive phone can perfectly do.
