I followed the links from this site to Digital River and downloaded Windows 7 one of my computers on the 22 Jan 2014.  I require another version of Windows 7 for another computer of mine.  Last night 29 Jan 2014 the link lead me to a site that showed

"The Page or File You Requested Could Not Be Provided The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.

Hi,

The Windows 7 ISO download links provided in this thread were originally made available for a specific program.  We’ve learned that the resource is valuable for customers beyond the initial intent.

While the links are not intended to be a permanent solution, the download links will continue to be available as we assess potential alternatives.  We recommend users save the ISO locally if you anticipate needing it again in the future. You will, of course, be required to have a valid Windows 7 product key to activate Windows, and will be subject to the conditions of the license associated with the product key you purchased.

Thank you.

Download the appropriate Windows 7 .ISO file which includes Service Pack 1

(Note: must match what your product key version is for)

How to find out if I have a 32 or 64Bit version of Windows installed on my computer:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/find-out-32-or-64-bit

Windows 7 Home Premium 32Bit:  http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-58996.iso

    SHA1 Hash value: 6071B4553FCF0EA53D589A846B5AE76743DD68FC

Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit:  http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-58997.iso

    SHA1 Hash value: 6C9058389C1E2E5122B7C933275F963EDF1C07B9

Windows 7 Professional 32Bit: http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-59183.iso

    SHA1 Hash value: 65FCE0F445D9BF7E78E43F17E441E08C63722657

Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit: http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-59465.iso

1) After downloading the correct .iso file install HashCalc and validate the SHA1 hash valueis correct. If the download is not corrupt, the value HashCalc returns will match the SHA1 value I posted.

HashCalc: http://www.slavasoft.com/hashcalc/index.htm

2) Next use ImgBurn or Gear ISO to create a bootable DVD.

Create a Bootable Windows 7 DVD using the .ISO file

Burning a Windows 7 ISO File on a DVD

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/977640

ImgBurn - In addition to supporting the creation of Cds/DVDs from .ISO files,

it supports a wide range of other image file formats, and it's free.

(BIN, CUE, DI, DVD, GI, IMG, MDS, NRG, PDI and ISO)

Screen shots to help you use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=screenshots

Burning ISO Images with ImgBurn article: http://neosmart.net/wiki/display/G/Burning+ISO+Images+with+ImgBurn

(The steps are the same for Windows 7 or Windows 8), except you are not creating a Repair disc but a full installation DVD)

Note: Always use high quality DVD+R media and the slowest burn speed (4x or 6x) if offered a choice.

    Looking at Heidoc.net

    http://heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/14-windows-7-direct-download-links

It seems that the working links are in the Office 2010 directory of the http://azcdn01.digitalrivercontent.net server.

    English:

    http://azcdn01.digitalrivercontent.net/office2010/X15-65732.iso

    http://azcdn01.digitalrivercontent.net/office2010/X15-65733.iso

    http://azcdn01.digitalrivercontent.net/office2010/X15-65804.iso

    http://azcdn01.digitalrivercontent.net/office2010/X15-65805.iso

    http://azcdn01.digitalrivercontent.net/office2010/X15-65921.iso

    http://azcdn01.digitalrivercontent.net/office2010/X15-65922.iso

    Spanish:

    http://azcdn01.digitalrivercontent.net/office2010/X15-65770.iso

    http://azcdn01.digitalrivercontent.net/office2010/X15-65771.iso

    http://azcdn01.digitalrivercontent.net/office2010/X15-65842.iso

    http://azcdn01.digitalrivercontent.net/office2010/X15-65959.iso

    http://azcdn01.digitalrivercontent.net/office2010/X15-65960.iso

Firstly I don't know why Windows .isos are in the Office 2010 directory but these are the only bootable ones that appear to work unfortunately without the service pack or media refresh.

Most of the rest of the Windows 7 .isos are broken and link to: http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-58996.iso

These give the error message http://microsofthup.com/hupus/error404.html

However there are still some links missing from this server will give something like http://azcdn01.digitalrivercontent.net/

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

    <Error>

To my eyes it could look like Microsoft is taking over the distribution for itself, but hasn't everything ready (why would they else use 302 Moved Temporarily, instead of 301 Permanently?)
