Hey all.
Long story short, I am writing this for my mother who current runs a dog boarding business as well as various other e-mail accounts, ranging from fan clubs to personal ones. She has a draft e-mail saved which contains information and links she would COPY and PASTE into e-mails prior to sending them. Essentially, these are signatures. No matter which signature she copies and pastes, each one has at least one weblink.
As of yesterday, when copying and pasting that information, the link does not copy with the text. Instead of pasting the text as a hyperlink, like she has been able to, it simply shows the text without any clickable option.
I have double checked the options, Read all messages in plain text is unticked, as well as the Mail Sending Format and News Sending Formation both being set to HTML.
Can anyone help please?

Get real CharlieG100. This functionality worked in Win 8.0 and was broken with the 8.1 release. Helen_C, MS moderator, said they were working on it 9 months ago. If we bought a car that didn't work we'd demand our money back. If the garage broke something while it was in for service, we'd expect them to fix it. This broken functionality has cost users thousands of hours of wasted time. Microsoft are devoid of integrity.
Chris – Judging from your reply, it seems that my previous post was taken as argumentative, which wasn’t my intention. By saying that we all should “get real”, I meant that it seemed obvious to me that this matter is of little importance to Microsoft and that they are stalling and will not be providing a solution until the next iteration/version of the software. I think we need to accept that, use the fix that was provided on this thread (it worked for me on both my Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 machines), and move on. I agree that many of us have lost many hours to this problem, but it’s a miniscule matter for Microsoft – I suspect they view this as a ‘give-away’, non-essential program that is used by a small percentage of mail program users – most of the people I know use a different mail program.
By the way, my recollection is that this problem with Windows Live Mail didn’t occur until I upgraded to Internet Explorer 11, but perhaps I’ve gotten to the age in which my memory has become faulty!?
Yes, we have the right to expect that things will work properly but, more often than not, they don’t. We can be upset and angry about it and complain bitterly – sometimes that works and sometimes not. It appears to me that it is not working in this situation (hard to believe that the many highly-skilled software engineers at Microsoft have not solved this seemingly simple problem in more than nine months!!) – so, I think we should move on.
Regarding your analogy of the car purchase, yes we would demand our money back if the car didn’t work – but this is more akin to one of the car accessories not functioning properly – a non-essential accessory that the dealer gave to us for free. Would we return the car and get our money back if a free accessory didn’t function as fully as expected – maybe some of us would and never buy that brand again. Windows Live Mail is part of the Windows Essentials packet of programs that any Windows user can download for free. Though it is a ‘give-away’ I still believe that Microsoft should support it and provide timely fixes for bugs or repair any damage, just as the car service provider should fix what they have broken. In no way am I excusing Microsoft from responsibility. But, after a certain amount of time and energy expended on what to me is a relatively minor though extremely annoying problem (I refer here to any similar situation), I look to find a solution elsewhere or work around it. Others may have a different take.
With all that said, my real-life experiences have lowered my expectations for this as well as for most products that I purchase and I am pleasantly surprised when something functions flawlessly. I don’t like this sad state of affairs, but it has caused me to ‘get real’. I very much dislike saying it, but current reality dictates that expecting integrity often leads to disappointment.

Windows 10 is bound to be unstable at this stage. The bigger question is whether MS intends to provide proper support for Windows Live Mail under W10 or just let it die of neglect. As the original fault in WLM was introduced by MS with the Win 8.1 release, and has still not been fixed after all this time, I am not hopeful.....
For me the problem is copying and pasting documents with hyperlinks from WORD into my Hotmail. I lose the hyperlinks and have to manually make them hyperlinks within the mail, this is time consuming and frustrating. It was working fine, and in the beginning of July it just stopped working. It stopped working when I was running Windows 7, my PC now has Windows 10 and it is still not working. Please, please tell me how to fix it, must be a setting somewhere that was accidentally turned off. Thank you.
