Windows Live Mail can not copy hyperlinks from one e-mail to another.

Hey all.

Long story short, I am writing this for my mother who current runs a dog boarding business as well as various other e-mail accounts, ranging from fan clubs to personal ones. She has a draft e-mail saved which contains information and links she would COPY and PASTE into e-mails prior to sending them. Essentially, these are signatures. No matter which signature she copies and pastes, each one has at least one weblink.

As of yesterday, when copying and pasting that information, the link does not copy with the text. Instead of pasting the text as a hyperlink, like she has been able to, it simply shows the text without any clickable option.

I have double checked the options, Read all messages in plain text is unticked, as well as the Mail Sending Format and News Sending Formation both being set to HTML.

Can anyone help please?

    I noticed the same problem, that seemed to happen recently.  I guessing the bug is in the 2012 Live Essentials update, because that can be the only that's changed on my system.

    I use Google Chrome now, on Win 7, and I had no problem cutting and pasting hyperlinks into a mail message as part of the body of a message.  But it often - not always - does not work.  Yes, I can use the "insert" tab and "insert hyperlink" and what ever is on the clipboard into a hyperlink.  Or you can right-click, select hyperlink, and it will create a hyperlink of what ever is copied to the clip board

    But this is extra steps that shouldn't be necessary.  Shouldn't live mail be able to recognize a hyperlink if pasted in the body of the text like it did before.  Is Microsoft looking into this.  I don't see harm or risk for anyone NOT wanting a web address to be an active hyperlink, so where's the concern, and why was this removed?  It's frustrating.

    I don't think this is on the radar for Microsoft. Its older 'free' programs seem to be pared back in features or eliminated and replaced with others having fewer features. Everything seems to be focused on Windows 8, which I dislike intensely, geared to ease of use on phones, tablets, and other yet-to-come portable devices. The 'free' mail program included in Windows 8 is a pared back stinker. I long for the days of a great free mail program like Outlook Express! I'd best stop complaining now -- sounding too much like an old fart, which I likely am!

    I've noticed a unique exception.  When I use Windows Live Mail on my Vista laptop, I have not problem, pasted hyperlink, pastes in hyperlink format.  But when I do it on Windows Live Mail on my desktop running Windows 7, it won't format as a hyperlink, unless I hit a carriage return after it.  Seems like a Win 7 quirkiness?
