Windows Live Mail can not copy hyperlinks from one e-mail to another.

Hey all.

Long story short, I am writing this for my mother who current runs a dog boarding business as well as various other e-mail accounts, ranging from fan clubs to personal ones. She has a draft e-mail saved which contains information and links she would COPY and PASTE into e-mails prior to sending them. Essentially, these are signatures. No matter which signature she copies and pastes, each one has at least one weblink.

As of yesterday, when copying and pasting that information, the link does not copy with the text. Instead of pasting the text as a hyperlink, like she has been able to, it simply shows the text without any clickable option.

I have double checked the options, Read all messages in plain text is unticked, as well as the Mail Sending Format and News Sending Formation both being set to HTML.

Can anyone help please?

    Sure. I suspect it works because the URL is also used as the anchor. When that's pasted, it's the anchor that's picked up, so that a following space or newline will enliven that anchor and make it into a clickable link, regardless of the style nonsense. If the anchor is something else, it won't work - there is no unmangled URL to work with. It depends where you paste from, though: try pasting this into a message compose window: Noel's WLMail pages.

    I couldn't agree more!  There is a problem and they won't even acknowledge it, still less give a date for it to be fixed.  That is why more and more of us are considering deserting to Apple.

    You can copy and paste a link from the browser address bar into Livemail and it works fine.  Copy and paste from MS Word and it loses the hyperlink.
