Windows Live Mail can not copy hyperlinks from one e-mail to another.

Hey all.

Long story short, I am writing this for my mother who current runs a dog boarding business as well as various other e-mail accounts, ranging from fan clubs to personal ones. She has a draft e-mail saved which contains information and links she would COPY and PASTE into e-mails prior to sending them. Essentially, these are signatures. No matter which signature she copies and pastes, each one has at least one weblink.

As of yesterday, when copying and pasting that information, the link does not copy with the text. Instead of pasting the text as a hyperlink, like she has been able to, it simply shows the text without any clickable option.

I have double checked the options, Read all messages in plain text is unticked, as well as the Mail Sending Format and News Sending Formation both being set to HTML.

Can anyone help please?

    That works if what is copied includes the URL in text, e.g. http://site.domain.tld. It doesn't work if what is copied is an anchor with a referenced URL, e.g. My site.

    This is all a function of, I think, one or other of mshtml.dll and mshtmled.dll which are updated with every change to Internet Explorer. We've seen this sort of error arise in Windows Live Mail with every upgrade to these libraries, and there's nothing to be done about them except hope that the next change will undo the damage. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

    Thanks for the detail, however, its easier simply to put the cursor immediately after the pasted URL, hit carriage return which embeds the hyperlink, then backspace to get back to how you want it.

    I gave up and went to Window Mail App. It is flawless and a desktop shortcut can be created which can be put on the taskbar. Imports are a breeze. Notification works. Clearly this is where the MS muscle is being directed.

    I have the latest version. I just upgraded from Win 8 to Win 8.1. Everything worked fine in Win 8. I have an 8 GB Lenovo H535 with AMD A8 6700 processor.

    Hyperlinks in text copied from another email and IE do not transfer; neither does color of the text copied unless it is the main body color. The big problem is hyperlinks; I can live without color transfer, but hyperlinks are much to cumbersome to reenter.

    This problem has been reported to you in October. It is now January 24, and nothing has been done to correct it.
