Windows Live Mail can not copy hyperlinks from one e-mail to another.

Hey all.

Long story short, I am writing this for my mother who current runs a dog boarding business as well as various other e-mail accounts, ranging from fan clubs to personal ones. She has a draft e-mail saved which contains information and links she would COPY and PASTE into e-mails prior to sending them. Essentially, these are signatures. No matter which signature she copies and pastes, each one has at least one weblink.

As of yesterday, when copying and pasting that information, the link does not copy with the text. Instead of pasting the text as a hyperlink, like she has been able to, it simply shows the text without any clickable option.

I have double checked the options, Read all messages in plain text is unticked, as well as the Mail Sending Format and News Sending Formation both being set to HTML.

Can anyone help please?

    Its not just copying URL's from one email to another.  Same problem if you try to cut and paste a URL from a Word document where a lot of us keep templates for repeated use in emails.

    I don't think so:

    I was  sending a link from firefox (using the "email link").

    This thread is about copying hyperlinks from one email message to another, not using a Send link by email function.

    .. if I go to the url link in the message and press enter just at the end of it ... the url lights up.

    Yes, this will enliven apparently dead links. Pressing the spacebar will usually work as well.

    I was also having this problem. We have windows vista business sp2 with windows live mail and I was  sending a link from firefox (using the "email link").  I found that if I go to the url link in the message and press enter just at the end of it, so that the cursor goes to the next line, the url lights up. It also is clickable in the received email.

    Hi Cesar

    I have auttomtic updates to Windows configured and the problem persists.  In fact, it was the automatic upgrade for Win 8 to Win 8.1 which initiated the problem.  MS broke it, MS should fix it!

    Why has it taken you 6 months to become aware of this very irritating problem?

    It hasn't. She was quite aware of it on 21 November last, but chose to doubt that it existed.

    What about all the other people who have experienced the same problem and taken the touble to find the thread? What sort of technician is she?  It takes less than one minute to test and prove that the problem is real.   Is Helene really the best that Microsoft can hire?
