Windows Live Mail can not copy hyperlinks from one e-mail to another.

Given the history of software development, it amazes me that some of us still expect perfection in what we get from any company. Everything has bugs that are sometimes fixed by the purveyors of software and sometimes not. We are lucky to have talented individuals who, for no profit except grateful accolades, help to provide fixes for the bugs with which software companies can't be bothered.

So, I will be diving right in to Windows 10 when it is released, especially since MS will offer it for free within the first year. I will expect bugs, some of which will be corrected by MS and some that will be fixed by others that want to help on forums like this -- and some may go unfixed until the next iteration of the software, but work-arounds may be provided by the not-for-profit 'software saints', who help us for free on forums like this one.

For all those Apple polishers who hate Microsoft -- I also have an iMac, and every release of the latest platform brings problems that are sometimes fixed by Apple and sometimes not (Apple never acknowledges problems until there is a widespread awareness of them) -- as with this forum, Apple software gurus not employed by the company also provide fixes and work-arounds.

LETS ALL GET REAL ABOUT THE SOFTWARE BUSINESS, stop constantly whining, and help each other work with the reality of the situation!

....and after this experience, who would want to risk Windows 10 within a year of it being released - time enough for the users to find some of the bugs MS couldn't be bothered with.

PS - love the Registry bit!

Since it was many months ago that we were told a fix from Microsoft is in the works, I seriously doubt that we will see a separate solution for this problem (and others that may be present in Windows Live Mail). My guess is that any fixes will likely come through the release later this year of Windows 10. Until then, I believe we will continue to be strung along with periodic reassurances from the MS Community Thread Monitors that the oh-so-complex issue is being hammered away at by the Support Escalation Engineers and the solution will arrive 'soon'. Don't hold your breath waiting for Microsoft.

Its now 9 months since you said the guys were working on a fix.  Do you think it will take much longer?  Some contributors are saying the registry fix on page 11 of thei chain does the job but many of us are reluctant to mess with the registry and want Microsoft to fix the problem which they caused with the 8.0 to 8.1 upgrade.

OK, I'm not going to respond to JohnM333 because I don't want to get in the middle of an argument.

Fortunately, I am an advanced user and programmer and the registry does not bother me at all.  So I tried the Hoge.reg fix and now my pasted links are working.  I have Win 8.1 with all the updates and WLM 2012.  For those of you like me that use the cut & paste for business reasons, you know this is a bit deal...  SO.... If you have read through all 19 pages (As I did) and still don't understand the registry fix, the answer is really simple...

"GET A KNOWLEDGEABLE FRIEND TO COME OVER AND HELP!!!!!!!!!!!"  This may come off rude, but if you "Knowledgeable" friend doesn't understand the instructions about the registry fix (Starting on page 11 of this posting) then your friend is NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE about the right things to help you... GET SOMEONE ELSE!  It's REALLY REALLY REALLY not as difficult as some people here are making it out to be and this insane fear of the registry is ridiculous.  Don't call a support company and expect them to make changes to your registry... They won't 'cuz it's not their job and they really don't want to get in trouble.  As for MS fixing this... I really don't care at this point... It's fixed for me and if you want it fixed for you then crying about it and just do the registry fix!

Will I have to apply this registry patch every-so-often when MS applies their "fixes" to my system?... Yeah, maybe... But once you know how to do it, you can apply this registry fix patch in about 5 seconds.

That's my rant... Don't respond... Just read this posting starting from page 11.
