Windows update KB2919355 fails to install - Error code 800F0922

Windows 8.1 Update for x64-based Systems (KB2919355)

Installation status: Failed

Error details: Code 800F0922

System got to 89% then said it couldn't complete the updates and that it would back out the updates.  15 minutes later, I'm back where I started.

Is it possible windows defender or other virus scanner blocked this update?

    All these suggestions are dumb.

    Here's the fix.  Disable secure boot in BIOS, install the updates, re-enable secure boot.

    Microsoft, it's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo beyond dumb that we have to do this to install your updates.  Your help department sucks, and these so called "experts" that work for you are anything but.

    Disable secure boot, install updates, re-enable secure boot.  Problem solved.

    Some 40 Windows 8.1 updates failed on my Dad's new PC, and disabling secure boot did not work either. I thought your suggestion was the solution for a bit, because the number of updates to be installed seemed to change, but it wasn't the case. None of the suggestions here worked for me, I've had to reset the machine and let it update from the top. Perhaps I could have uninstalled all updates instead, but a clean installation seemed easier and more thorough.

    You are absolutely right about these problems being ridiculous, though. And the advice by the so-called technical experts is indeed utterly useless, they just have a handful of tricks up their sleeves and that's it; no genuine understanding or problem-solving capabilities.

    Scan this, clean that, change a setting or two, turn off your security suite . . . Still not working? Wipe that bastard clean!

    Anyway, I thought I'd share my frustrations and how I "solved" the issue. I'm in IT, so it's a bit disappointing that I had to go for the brute force solution instead of an elegant fix, but well. We are stuck with technology when what we really want is just stuff that works.

    Here is my solution:

    1. boot GParted live CD
    2. start terminal

    sudo –s

    mc   (in v /mnt I created folder a)

    "CTRL + o" = command line where i mounted to this folder /dev/sda1 by command

    mount –t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/a

    "CTRL + o" = back to midnight commander

    (go to /mnt/a folder, where is mounted /sda1 ,there I found a huge file, which fulfill all drive(who knows where this come from...) and I deleted it.)

    "CTRL + o" = command line

    shutdown now –r    (restart PC)

    Then you can do update without problem, really fine work :)
