Windows 8.1 Update for x64-based Systems (KB2919355)

Installation status: Failed

Error details: Code 800F0922

System got to 89% then said it couldn't complete the updates and that it would back out the updates.  15 minutes later, I'm back where I started.

Is it possible windows defender or other virus scanner blocked this update?

If you are sure you have stopped the windows update service and still cannot rename the softwaredistribution folder, try renaming the downloads folder inside softwaredistribution and then continue with the instructions. This should have the same end result.

I was able to install KB2919355 after 8000F0922 error. But in my case there were no problems with system reserved partition. It turned out, installer could not execute "netcfg" command. Root cause was a Cisco VPN client. When I deleted VPN client, update installed normally.

This reply is well hidden through all the other fixes, but THIS did it for me after all. I uninstalled Cisco VPN client and it worked like a charm!

I've been trying to get this installed since May.  Microsoft are you looking at this?!?!

I tried all the things I could find in this community and NONE WORKED...

    I DON'T have a VPN.

I tried turning off firewall / defender.

    I don't have a reserved disk.

    I tried the DSIM commands.

I tried renaming the SoftwareDisrtribution directory.

Nothing worked.  Anything else to try?  I'm running with auto update turned off so I don't have to wait forever when it tries to install / uninstall this update each time I boot up!

Here's the info I can find:

Apparently this forum doesn't support rich text (previous post). The problem info I pasted in didn't show up. Come on Microsoft, how can you have such lousy support for your flagship product?

Still getting the 8000F0922 error when trying to install KB2919355. Since MAY!!!
