Windows 8.1 installation error 0x80004005

I tried to update my Win8 Pro via the Win8 Store and it downloaded, proceeded to Applying Changes > Gathering info > Preparing to restart

and than : error 0x80004005; install cancelled.

No explanation why it did not do the restart. I tried it several times because initially I started everything while continuing work in a desktop application. Than I tried it with a restart w/o desktop. Same result.

So I am stuck with Win8 until there is a solution that does not require a clean install where I have to re-install all my software again. No way...

It would be helpful if Microsoft could confirm that this set-up problem is now recognised as a known error and let us know when they expect to issue a fix. At the moment we're completely in the dark. Presumably Microsoft specialists will know what happens at 68 - 71 percent in the Windows 8.1 setting up phase, which should help them narrow down the root cause of this fault? Thanks in anticipation.

Steps for Installation on LaptopPerform a factory restore with the help of your recovery disk or with recovery partition or call your Laptop brand. ( Do take a backup of your data)

Then after factory reset install every update from Microsoft and update driver's too before installing windows 8.1

After installing each and every update from Microsoft and updating driver begin windows 8.1 updateI have followed these steps from a Microsoft Service EngineerI updated Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 successfully(Another tip for desktop users is to set your C: / drive to active)

Windows 8.1 don't support to create a recovery DVD you need a USB device at least 32GB of space)

Why i need to spend a day for it?

If there is an answer my second question is:

Why i could not download ISO image with my OEM key? If i could, i would save my time.

Microsoft likes to force their customers to spend longest time.
