Windows 8.1 installation error 0x80004005

Good day, I believe I have identified the source of the error, my free antivirus software has alerted me to a file located (... C: $Windows.~BT \ Sources \ Setuphost.exe ) That has been removed as it was detected as a threat, it would appear without this setup file the setup process cannot complete successfully. Here's the problem it can be downloaded separately with a search in thy world wide internets machine ;), but each file has different binary versions and which one is the correct one needed for the 8.1 update is anybody's guess???

MICROSOFT, THIS ISSUE IS NOW 9 MONTHS OLD AT LEAST IN THIS FORUM. I HAVE TRIED TO UPDATE AGAIN AND STILL THE SAME 80004005 ERROR.,

-WE DO NOT WANT TO DO A CLEAN INSTALL AS PER WIN95 ERA MACHINES. THIS IS AN OLD FASHIONED OUTDATED WAY OF DOING STUFF.

-MICROSOFT SUPPORT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. IN FACT, MS IS NOT ADDRESSING IT.

-YOU WANT US TO USE YOUR PRODUCT BUT YOU DON'T HELP US.

I used MS hints 2 months ago...I re-tried again today...same rubbish.

Linux is starting to look attractive, Google is looking attractive........

I agree with you SteveH but I don't think you are going to get anywhere with this. In hindsight, although it took me three full days to get mostly everything back, it was easier that waiting for a "fix" from Microsoft.

The example shows the file in the "sources" folder on a DVD? In my case, I don't have a DVD (downloading from the store) so how am I supposed to write the file to a DVD? Are you suggesting I download a Win 8.1 installation disk?

If you scan down the text brought up by the link I attached it says where to find the file with the PID in it. It's a long shot but worth a try.
