Digital Media Renderer

I am trying to connect and stream video and pictures from my Windows 7 Pc to my Xbox One. I finally got my Pc to add the Xbox One to my Wireless Devices but now it's asking me to update my Digital Media Renderer Driver. When I click on Apply Fix it goes through the motions then an error message pops up. It says that their isn't a driver for the Digital Media Renderer and that there's trouble with PnP devices? The Xbox 360 was easy to connect but for some reason the Xbox One is having trouble. Please help. Thank you

I'm betting you just have to open Windows Media Player on the PC and check two things under Stream. Allow remote control of my player and the most important; Automatically allow devices to play my media. Then if you click more streaming options, you should see your Xbox has full access granted now! Ignore the Digital Media Renderer driver error, it's not an issue here...

    I have the same problem where i get a message saying "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)." The Digital Media Renderer is unable to be installed through Windows. Not sure what to do to fix it. Have looked everywhere online.

    This is what I did to get it to work.

    Firstly I removed my PC from my homegroup by going to Network and sharing center in the control panel.

    Next I went in to Control panel > System and security > Administrative tools.

    Go into Services.

    Find "Windows media player network sharing service" and stop it.

    Find  "UPnP Device host" and stop it, then start it again.

    Go back to "Windows media player network sharing service" and start it again.

    Close all the windows down and start up WMP, it should work now, good luck.  I found removing my pc from my homegroup was the most important step.

    I've seem to have found a fix for this issue.

    Go into the Control Panel > Hardware and Sound and under "Devices and Printers" you should see "Device Manager", click on this. You will see an item called "Other Devices" and under it you should see the "Digital Media Renderer" with a tiny yellow warning triangle next to it. Right click on the "Digital Media Renderer" and select "Disable". You should now be able to right click on any music or video and select the "Play To" option.

    Mr. Swapnil J,

    I would like to inform you that this is a PC issue as much as it is an Xbox Department issue. It is the PC that is failing to update the driver "Digital Media Renderer".  I cannot use the Play To feature in windows media player to stream content to my xbox. I have invested in numerous Microsoft products (Windows Surface Pro 2, Xbox one, Windows Phones) in the past few weeks. I was looking forward for all my products to seamlessly connect to each other as advertised but it has been nothing but a headache since I bought into the Microsoft product line.
