Update 1 - Error 8018830F -> Update was downloaded but could not be opened

Hello Folks,

We have resolved this issue with the error 8018830F.  You can now simply go to Phone Update and check for updates to install the latest version.

Folks,

We have heard a small set of devices were receiving the error 8018830F when trying to take Update 1 this morning.  We need your help to look into this further.

Please reply to this thread and provide the following details:

  1. Make/Model of Device (Ex: Nokia Lumia 925)
  2. Country device was purchased in
  3. Mobile Operator if device is branded a specific operator (during boot up does it display a Mobile Operator logo?)
  4. The Manufacture ID for Device (Nokia Devices Only!)

Note:  To find the Manufacture ID,  go to Settings -> Extras + Info -> More Info -> It should be the first row listed.

Please keep this thread limited to devices seeing this error message.  If you have another error please search the forum or create a new question.

    I wanted to Update 2 instead. Because this phone already shipped in Update 1. I tried to reset it several times, update it several times in vain, I even tried to reset this using Windows Recovery Tool but it says I already have the latest software update install which contradicts what is my phone is saying, that I have a newer software update so it downloads right away when it detects WiFi. I believe it's Update 2. Please help my device. I just newly bought this last week. I bought a phone that wont update. Please help, I really wanted to get into Windows 10 Mobile, I am readying my phone to that update.

    Lumia 830

    Bought on the Philippines, in Nokia Concept Store in Glorrieta 2 Makati

    Unlocked, but currently in SMART Prepaid on normal SIM

    I see only Manufacturer Name, not ID, so here it is anyway : RM-984_1012

    Please help me with this ASAP

    Phone Update: The update was downloaded, but couldn't be opend.(8018830f)

    hello, i have the same issue. i am from germany and i have also a rogers branding.

    i have the same error code since 2015. now we have the 17th of march 2016 -.-
