Folks, We have heard a small set of devices were receiving the error 8018830F when trying to take Update 1 this morning. We need your help to look into this further. Please reply to this thread and provide the following details: Make/Model of Device (Ex: Nokia Lumia 925) Country device was purchased in Mobile Operator if device is branded a specific operator (during boot up does it display a Mobile Operator logo?) The Manufacture ID for Device (Nokia Devices Only!) Note: To find the Manufacture ID, go to Settings -> Extras + Info -> More Info -> It should be the first row listed. This worked for me. I change my language to a language that I didn't have downloaded, I used Portuguese (Brazil), restart and check for updates again.... And worked fine... Now is updated UPDATE: SORRY IT DIDN'T, it did update but not to 8.1 update 1 :(

Nokia Lumia 820 UK O2 (unlocked; no logo) RM-825_eu_euro1_217 Tried a few times already; downloads, gears, fails. Rebooted, tried again. I'm running the Developer Preview and have been running the 8.1 Beta for months without issue. Tried updating a new language pack (like some others suggested) to US English. This gave me Cortana ok but then I reset back to UK and everything has changed back to 8.1 but no Cortana. However I've just tried to update again and it's going through the download..... Ok, downloaded again and back to the same error message: Can't update phone It's probably a temporary problem. To try again, go to Settings Phone Update. (0x80188308) Trying again from home just in case it was the work wifi????
