Just a right click of the mouse

I have repeatedly had this corruption occur with windows 10 apps. Currently netflix won't launch, update, or uninstall. This is after a clean installation. I am SO TIRED OF FORMATTING. This is an insane joke at this point. I have reset my computers over 12 times due to so many registration issues. Nothing listed online has solved my problems, so I just keep formatting and hoping it'll be ok, and it is for a few days, then another thing screws up. It's not a hard drive problem, these issues occur on multiple computers.

    1. I ran sfc /scannow. It said that it found some missing or corrupted files and repaired them.
    2. I have cleared the Store cache about 10 times but I did it again.
    3. Rajesh, you neglected to tell us how to do a coy and paste at the Command prompt. The normal way doesn't work (namely Cntrl-C to copy and Cntrl-V to paste). What are the copy and paste conventions for the Command Prompt? Not all of us are coders.

    Rajesh,

It would have been helpful if you told people that they should be sure that they are in the root directory by typing

cd . Many people don't know about this. The System File Checker runs only when in the root directory.

    Hi Roice,

Thank you for asking your query on this forum. We are glad to assist you with this issue.

It would be great if you can explain the issue in detail. Please answer these questions to assist you better.

    1. When exactly do you face the issue with the Windows 8.1 App? Is it a) as soon as you launch it or b) when you work on it?
    2. Do you get any error message or code when you face this issue with the apps?
    3. Are you able to open the Windows Store on the computer?
    4. Do you have any third party security program installed on the computer?
    5. Apart from running the Apps Troubleshooter, did you try any other troubleshooting methods on the computer?

I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if that helps. Let us first check if this issue is caused by any corrupted system files on the computer. To check this, run the SFC Scan and let us know the result.

Method 1: Run an SFC Scan

The “sfc /scannow” command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

    a) Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard and select “Command Prompt (Admin)” from that menu.

    b) On the command prompt window, type the following command, and then press “Enter”

    sfc /scannow

    c) Follow the on-screen instructions and complete the scan.

For more information, you may refer to the article given below:

***Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files***

Please let us know the scan result.

Now, check if you are able to open the Windows Store on the computer. If not, then try the next method.

Method 2: Clear the Store Cache

You may try these steps to clear the Store cache and check if that helps:

    a) Press the “Windows Logo” + “R” keys on the keyboard.

    b) Type “wsreset.exe” and press “Enter”.

    c) Reboot the computer and then check if you are able to open the Windows Store and all the other apps on the computer.

If that doesn’t help, then you may try re-registering the Windows Store App by following the instructions given below and check if that helps.

Method 3: Re-register the Windows Store App

To re-register, please try these steps:

    a) Press “Windows Logo” + “Q” keys on the keyboard and type “cmd” in the search box.

    b) Right click on the “Command Prompt” icon from the search results and select “Run as administrator”

    c) On the command prompt window, copy and paste the following command, and then press “Enter”

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml

    d) Check the result displayed on the command prompt window.

    e) If it was successfully processed, then type “Exit” and press “Enter”.

Please get back to us with the results.
