KB2887595 update problem, "Failure configuring Windows updates-undoing changes".

Turns out some anti virus programs are reporting this update as false update, at least mine did, Bit Defender that is.

All I did was turn off all the protection,including real time scan and of other stuff like On Access scanning, Active Virus control.

Then I did for a recheck of updates and continued to install as normal.

Upon restart the update was successful and I have turned on the protection of my anti virus to normal.

You should check if your Anti-Virus is also doing this funny thing.

My updates do not even install at all non of them they just fail(Windows8.1 x64 update)

I uninstalled my Anti-Virus-programm (AntiVir Premium by Avira) completely, but this didn't help. The update still fails every time.

Same issue with KB2887595 on Windows 2012 R2, installation is failing on 2 servers.

We have opened a supportcase with microsoft, no solution yet.

I would be interested to know what ms say. This is the first time I've had this kind of trouble with an update and the forum has been helpful in getting some generic help and also to see that many of us have had this problem.

What does surprise me though (even though all big companies behave in the same way) is that after it has become obvious that there is a problem with the update, the silence is deafening as the generic help comes to an end and there is no statement on the subject from the powers that be.

Even an admission that certain users are having an issue would be a start.
