KB2887595 update problem, "Failure configuring Windows updates-undoing changes".

Nothing worked, so in the end I had to install Windows 8.1 anew. Now everything works fine. Sadly Microsoft seems to ignore the problems regarding this strange patch.

    I have the same problem(80070057) with you and I have tried all the things that you have done. Same as you, none of them works.

    In the Chinese Microsoft Community, one person says that this patch is not for windows 8.1 and provide this link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=41076 . This is the page for Windows Server 2012's KB2887595, but it is strange that the patch file in this page is also called KB2887595. I download this patch and finally it successfully updated.

   Maybe Microsoft have mixed up these two patches.

Strangely, I did get it the regular windows update version to install on my surface pro, but only after many many attempts.

This directly downloaded patch did not work for me. Just got "this update has failed" at the end of the install.

I have exactly the same problem on my Dell XPS 12.  Tried the above - Failed. I have also tried a clean boot - Failed.

I also has this problem. I can not install KB2887595. When I installed it, it showed a process of 4% then restarted. During restart process, it failed and restart again automatically. No error message. After restart, when I check the windows updates, it showed that this update was not installed.

I am very sad about it.

Just hope Microsoft to find some solution to fix it.
