KB2887595 update problem, "Failure configuring Windows updates-undoing changes".

Hi,

When I try to apply KB2887595 after the restart I get this message: "Failure configuring Windows updates-undoing changes".How to resolve it?

    My first related error event is always this:

    Fault bucket , type 0

    Event Name: WindowsWcpOtherFailure3

    Response: Not available

    After downloading the separate packages from the link above, only

    Looks like we have different issues with the same (80070057) error code.

    Maybe we must wait for the fix of the fix.

    Please look at the Event Viewer/Windows Logs/Application. (If there are too much events, clear the Application log and try again to install  KB2887595).

    My first event is this one:

    I have had trouble on 2 Windows 8.1 x64 installations. One of them is a surface pro, which updated after about 10 attempts (having to fixit inbetween each attempt).

    On the other PC this update just won't install - it fails with error 80070057.

    I have run fixit muliple times, manually stopped the windows update service and deleted all entries in SoftwareDistribution and DataStore then restarted the service. I have also run

    • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and Scanhealth

    I have tried all of these in clean boot and regular boot, and also manually downloaded the update and tried to install it - it fails.

    For me, KB2887595 simply will not install - it appears to start to download the update and then gives the error message.
