KB2887595 update problem, "Failure configuring Windows updates-undoing changes".

Listen the only reason I care about this is to possibly solve this web page display problem im having with Putlocker. It onły displays links and those links don't go anywhere, there are also no pictures displayed.

 If I could be steered in that direction that would be fantastic, but keeping in mind that a tech couldn't figure it out with his small methods, specifically going into Internet Options and plugging in the Putlocker web page somewhere in there, going to check on a few settings down the long list, and messing around in the add-on's section in Internet Explorer. I tried looking into this so called problem solver "*Change The User Agent*", nope.

I am starting to think that this is a windows update program failure, not updates. I installed 5 or 6 updates for .Net, which shouldnt have any problem, but did, and again once more it failed to complete the same way.

I tried and failed once more. The process did not work. I had to reset for the 4th time.

I have a Dell Inspiron,maybe there is something wrong with Dell hardware that stops the installation of this update.

Ctrl Panel,

search for Troubleshoot,

select Troubleshhoting,

at the bottom, under System and Security

select Fix problems with Windows Update.

I'd tried it yesterday, it's fixed something, but not solved my problem.

I'll try it again.

Strange

Hi I have a TABLET Dell Latitude 10 ST2 Windows 8 Pro. Same problem here, update fails undoing screen. I tried the fix windows update advice above and it fixed 2 items. I noticed that this time it took a lot less time for windows update to download the updates, say 20 minutes (it took upwards of 1-2 hours in the past).

I am waiting for the "preparing to install" thing to stop, to finally get done, and its taking a while. It's been at least 40 minutes. Before this fix try I tried setting 3 things to Automatic in Services, being led by someone on YouTube. That didn't work. I fell asleep last night while the updates were installing, when I woke up at 8 am it had failed hours and hours previous, signifying that waiting 30 minutes doesn't do anything to help you.

We'll see here in a few if it worked. I'll keep posted. I hope there is someone still alive here.
