I am running Vista and IE9, which, when I try to update, says that IE9 IS the most current browser for Vista. At someone else's suggestion, I went to TOOLS, COMPATIBILITY VIEW SETTINGS, and removed MSN.COM from the compatibility view list. My MSN.com homepage immediately changed from the unusable "list look" to what I assume is the new MSN. Try it - it can't hurt at this point.
You are using an outdated browser. Please upgrade to the latest version for the best MSN experience.
Today I was absolutely surprised when trying to access MSN Money and could not, getting instead the message "You are using an outdated browser. Please upgrade to the latest version for the best MSN experience." There was no warning yesterday or overnight when I was happily using the MSN Money site with no problems, that all of the sudden today there would be a "new" MSN site that would not be functional for many operating systems and browsers. The MSN pages are almost unusable, formatted as a long list and in a way that does not show or allow the former functionality. Can't access my stock portfolio yet, on which I rely. My browser is Safari 5.1.10. I visited the Apple Support site and there is not a newer version of Safari available for my operating system, which runs Mac OSX version 10.6.8. So I have the most up to date browser possible for my operating system. My Mac is a 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 with 8 GB or RAM, quite modern enough according to the MSN compatibility site, and, their compatibility site also says my version of OSX is compatible with MSN. To try to get functionality, I uninstalled Silverlight and then re-installed it, following the installation instructions exactly at the Silverlight site. Re-started my browser but still no improvement at MSN.com. Can anyone offer help on this? Any idea why MSN does this to regular customers? Thank you.

I had this problem with several machines at work and it was resolved by going to compatibility view settings andREMOVING msn.com from the list. Every machine that had this problem in IE9 also had msn.com listed in the compatability view settings.
This actuall works to solve the problem.

2014-10-07T09:48:48+00:00 Using Mac OS X version 10.6.8 and Safari version 5.1.10, but using User Agent Internet Explorer 9.0 to view/use MSN Money: Regarding the issue of the stock portfolios not importing completely and some not importing at all, and still not having received anything back from Microsoft to answer my questions submitted to their feedback team, I found this information on a Microsoft support website at https://support2.microsoft.com/kb/3004532?wa=wsignin1.0. It is entitled “Migrating your Watchlist”. Go to that page. Follow all of the steps in step 1 and step 2. In step 2 they give you a web address to go to where you can hit “Retry Import”, but make sure to take care of all of the steps in step 1 first. Many of you may have found other support information recommending that we hit “Retry Import”, but no one could find that link or that menu item on MSN’s My Watchlist page. So the trick is that you apparently must go to the website address they give you in step 2. After all of the updates they are working on today, perhaps the “Retry Import” link will soon be available on “My Watchlist”, but until that time, the method described above is what they are recommending. Unfortunately when I tried to log in to my portfolio tonight to see if this process worked from earlier this afternoon, I repeatedly got the message at the bottom of the page, “There was a problem migrating your watchlists. Please try again in few minutes.” I waited until later today to try again because they had put up some messages saying the MSN Community would not be available for posts until a certain Pacific time zone time, so I waited until well after that to retry my portfolio stuff. I tried it over and over, all to to no avail. So I made one last try, and after another time-consuming bout with renaming my portfolios at their direction (because apparently my earlier efforts and time at doing this did not get saved by their site), I got this message: “Our services aren't available right now. We're working to restore all services as soon as possible. Please check back soon.”
So perhaps tomorrow something better will happen with this process. So far it has been a waste of time, like all of this has been. When I tried to access my portfolios via Mozilla Firefox, I got the message “There was a problem migrating your watchlists. Please try again in few minutes.” So I have no access to my portfolios tonight, and all of the work I put in today may be a waste of time. Hopefully I will find out tomorrow. Until then I can get to know SigFig a lot better where my portfolios are also now residing thanks to their free portfolio tracker tool, which I like.

2014-10-07T05:07:31+00:00 I agree. I use yahoo now and can get my mail there. I have not yet tried to move portfolio over there. Am hoping MS gets that fixed.
Yahoo is not bad. Never had a reason to go before. Anyone else finding new sites that are better. ?
Received this response from Wikinvest:
Hello,

Sorry for the delay. Please note that we are no longer updating the Wikinvest website or mobile apps as we focus or energy on building SigFig (www.sigfig.com).
You can log into SigFig using your Wikinvest username and password. All of the holdings you entered into Wikinvest will automatically appear upon login.

Regards,

Wikinvest.com

Investing, Simplified So, I went ahead and checked out sigfig.com and the organization. A brief check had me feeling fine about it, so I went ahead and signed into sigfig and the portfolio there seems great, essentially the same as Wikinvest, but even better because now the % change data is accurate! And SigFig offers some extra tools. Don’t be put off by the initial message you get suggesting you invest lots of $ with sigfig. Just sign in or login at the top right and then sigfig will offer to give you a quick tour, which I did and it was an easy 4 steps. I can’t remember if they asked me if I wanted to import my portfolio from Wikinvest or if it just happened automatically as they said it would, but in any case it was so quick and simple that I forget now. All of my portfolios seem to be complete, and the same categories I had chosen with Wikinvest are all there and displaying the same way. So far so good, and, they have not asked for any $ to keep this portfolio tool so it appears it will continue to be a free service!
